The first stop on our adventure is a one night stay at Desert Paradise RV resort in Yuma, Arizona.
As you can see, this Thousand Trails Trails Collection park is immaculately maintained. The Camp Host who checked us in was very friendly and made sure we were aware of all the amenities (pool, hot tub, rec room), and checked us in with no fuss!
Our camp site was clean and ready for us to roll in.

This and the Cactus Gardens park next door are identical, owned by Encore. Gravel sites are all back in, close together and not even close to level. The pool, fitness room, and rec hall were all closed due to COVID-19 but the price remains the same. No free WiFi and the paid WiFi service was so slow we couldn’t even get email or Google... more
This and the Cactus Gardens park next door are identical, owned by Encore. Gravel sites are all back in, close together and not even close to level. The pool, fitness room, and rec hall were all closed due to COVID-19 but the price remains the same. No free WiFi and the paid WiFi service was so slow we couldn’t even get email or Google to load. A refund was promised in 8 to 10 business days.
Traffic noise from busy roads on all sides of the park is really loud during morning and afternoon rush hours and thundering miles-long freight trains roar by all night. As you can see from the picture, it’s not a popular spot.
We only stayed because Mike was working at Arizona Western College nearby.

This is our second stay here at Desert Paradise. Even though we are in our 40's and this is a 55+ park, we have been made to feel very welcome.
