This is a good spot for spending the night when traveling East out of Barstow on I-40 towards Needles. When you pull into the rest spot stay right (follow the sign that says cars and campers) and go behind and just past the rest room’s, then look for a large open gravel area off to the right, just past the trees. We were grateful for a relatively safe place to stop for the night and break up a long drive up to Grand Canyon. We pulled a bit away from the semis onto the gravel and while there was quite a bit of freeway noise, it quickly became white noise.
