We discovered this gem of a dry camping spot while scouting the area. There are two ways to access this location and we highly recommend going through the National Park to get here. The roads from the Big Creek area are terrible for a travel trailer.
The parking area once you reach the destination is a huge gravel circle that could easily handle 10+ rigs parked wagon train style around the loop all with a good view.
Cell service was non existent here on Verizon and AT&T. We would have stayed the week if we could get cellular data.
For us, it worked as a great overnight launch point to get into the first come, first serve Apgar Campground within the park.
This is an unofficial campground, but I would assume the 16 day limit of the National Forest would still apply.
Adventure Awaits would stay here again

We drove by here to scout better spots than the North Fork main area on Compendium down the road. This would be a better spot with less crowding. The downside is that North Fork Rd turns from paved to dirt just south of the McGinnis Creek turnoff and deteriorates rapidly the farther north you go.
The road quality wasn't great - lots of washboarding. It was alright in a truck with all terrain tires (35MPH) but I imagine we'd be going ~15MPH with a trailer. It would take a long time to get here from the boondocking spots further south.
The other reviewers suggestion to come in from Camas Rd in the park is a good one assuming you have a newly implemented vehicle reservation for the area for the relevant day.
