The road to the campsite is bumpy, when we got to the lake it was empty (8/16/22) this is because of having a bad snowpack and has been low the past years. It was a very fun to camp at when it had water and I hope it refills soon.

Campground has fire pit but there was a burn ban. Picnic tables at each site. Pack in, pack out no garbage. There is restrooms though! No cell service for sprint/T-Mobile. The lake was very Low when we went (8-23-21). Lake beach is full of strange green algae. Didn’t swim in it because it looked gross. Maybe if you had a little canoe it would be fun. Was cold at night in the summer! Use a good blanket and protect yourself and food from bears because they may be around at night.

Once you get off I-90, its just over 9 miles on a very curvy gravel mountain road. The views are amazing. Just take it slow, the washboard road is a bit bumpy in some areas but very doable. There was everything from 40' 5th wheels to car/tent campers all along the way. If the paid campground is full, plenty of opportunity to disperse camp for FREE along the way. As you can guess, the paid campground sits on Delmoe Lake. Everything from fishing, swimming, and ATVs, dirtbikes, etc. So yes, it can be a bit loud during the day. I camped in B Loop with have the best views of the lake, my site was B5 with a trail directly to a beach on the lake. The lake was way down from where it should be depth wise. There are no reservations here, first come, first serve sites, find you spot and drop your envelope at the entrance. Park Rangers did patrol the area, so be sure you have your fishing license and any water crafts such as a kayak properly inspected. Even though during the day there was ATV noise, I still give this a 5 star because I knew that before I got here.
Even though my Sprint cell only had 2 bars LTE, my MoFi cellular router worked perfect.

We got off exit 233 expecting to park at the campendium site right by the exit but decided to keep going bc YOLO. So glad we did! It's forever getting here- 10 miles was an hour or more but once we got a view of the lake, we were hooked. Several sites are large enough for larger rigs but most are more suited for smaller rigs, smaller trailers or tents. We got a lot of looks pulling in in our 32 ft class A pulling a 4 door Jeep. Sites on the B loop are more accessible. If you're longer than 32, I wouldn't try the A loop- a couple sites on A might accommodate a larger rig but accessing those sites is definitely tighter. We paid for 2 nights but may stay longer. Lots of ORV trails- I imagine weekends here are insane. We arrived on a Monday night around 5 pm. All good. Quiet hours are 10 p to 6 a. We are able to roam on our Sprint phones with 1-2 bars and access data.

The road to Delmoe Lake is 10 miles from the highway exit and is narrow and gravel/dirt. There are short, narrow turnouts but still is fairly narrow if two trailers are passing one another. Even so, I did see large 5th wheel trailers making the trek and when I arrived, I just took my time as to passing other trailers and did not become an issue. The road is fairly good with only a few washboard areas. This is a popular area for ATV/dirt bikes as it appeared there were endless amount of trails for their use. The weekends were a bit noisy with the ATVs, but the week days you might feel that you are camping alone. The weekend nights were quiet though. There are two loops, A & B with a day use/boat ramp area in between. During my stay, it seemed that Loop B was busier loop. Loop B does have mostly bigger sites with several being pull-thrus. Loop A has two pull-thru sites and the remaining 8 or so sites are back-ins. Some of the back-in sites in Loop A are only suitable for tent camping. Loop B may have a better direct view of the lake but from my site #23, there was still a nice sliver view of the lake. As for cell service, I didn't get great service directly from my site, but if I walked over to site #24 (15 feet), I could pick up 2 bars of LTE. The cell service at my site may have been affected by the huge granite boulders surrounding my site. While kayaking on the lake, I observed the cell towers on the hill overlooking Loop B. I wasn't able to test the cell service on Loop B, but I would guess that you would get 2 bars Verizon LTE from there. In addition to the campground, there are numerous Boondocking areas, some of which will only fit a tent but with a few that could easily fit several rigs together. On that 10 miles stretch, cell service varied from 3G to 2 bars Verizon LTE. Due to budget shortfalls, there is no longer a campground host although there is trash service/vault toilets that are maintained.
