Park is busy with boaters all day and night with resulting traffic. Hey 189 is next to the park and traffic noise is constant. Other than that great campsite with stunning scenery

The park it self is not far from the the major stores, the sites a nice and well leveled. There’s a fire pit with grill amd Charcoal BBQ. The water faucets are not to far from any sites, since they have multiple on site.

It was hot in Provo in early September and a local told us about this state park. The temperature was about 12 degrees cooler which was nice. Lots are far apart and were elevated above the lake. If you are a boater this is a great place to go. T-Mobile didnt work but Verizon did.

The only negative was the very low water pressure.
The surrounding area is beautiful and we would definitely stay here again.

Second time staying here. First time in a pull through. Actually reserved it the day it became available this year. That was a mistake.
First the good - cell speeds are amazing. We (IT) work from our trailer during the week and it doesn’t get much better than at this park. AT&T and Verizon both just under 100 mbps down. AT&T 40 up, Verizon 20 up. So, that’s been wonderful.
The numerous men who have walked through our campsite, not wonderful. I’d say “people” if that were true. Largely younger men - please teach your young adult campers that this is rude and inappropriate. I’d invite you over to our site if I wanted you here. Never had this problem so much at any campground in 2 years of being on the road regularly. There’s a culture at this park - partying, disregard for others’ space, loud everything. Trash everywhere after the weekend. And I mean anything and everything… everywhere.
So, it’s not a bad park, but there is a precedent or culture here - just be aware if you want to book here. Last year we did not have this same experience and came around the same time. The weekend was busy, but not a frat party on drugs. Also, Utah State Parks are expensive compared to some other nearby states. Also if you value your personal space to any degree, get a back-in site.

The sites are well spaced and offer privacy. The firepits have a cooking grate on top and are nice built up brick. There are awnings over the metal picnic tables at some sites. Ours had one. The sites are paved, the area under the picnic table was paved also. There are stellar mountain views and beautiful reservoir views. When we checked in they let us know that they had shut the water off for the time being. Facilities are still available, just no water at the sites. We read reviews about the trickle water flow and filled up before we came so it was no big deal. The cell signal was perfect for work. Verizon 5 bars 4 G (85 MBPS down and 23 MBPS up). T-mobile was not good (5 MBPS down and .5 MBPS up). The campground is close to the highway but the noise did not bother us. It was a quiet and peaceful experience. FYI dogs are only allowed in the camp. They are not allowed on the trails in the park or on boats in the water due to it being a watershed. There are dog parks nearby in Heber City, Park City and Provo. Also, there is plenty of dog friendly hiking outside the park in the local area.

Nice campground on the lake/reservoir. Tent spaces are small but offer a picnic table, fire pit and grill. Has bathrooms and showers but fairly kept. Close to shops/restaurants, hikes, public boat launch.

Deer Creek State Park was an overnight stay for me on the way to Idaho. Check-in was easy, staff was friendly and helpful. My spot was at the top of the campground had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. No fault of the park, the sky throughout Utah on my travel days were smoke-filled from fires in neighboring states which diminished visibility. Fellow campers at Deer Creek were smiling and friendly, and observed quiet hours (always important for me as I get to bed early). There was no natural shade on this space. Bathrooms and showers were just across the road, very convenient. The site is asphalt and level. No issues with hookups. As I was unplugged from electronics, I can't report on cell service levels. I would definitely camp here again and recommend it to family and friends.

“Could we have the campground closer to a four lane highway?”

Sadly this is an example of bad land management and planning. Instead of locating campgrounds lower and closer to the reservoir-they are 100 yards from a four lane congested artery. I never heard a break in traffic.
