Warm water ( temps were in the 50s during the day, and 20s at night) and bathrooms were clean and warm, too. There is horseback riding, fishing, hiking, birdwatching, wildlife and kayaking. So much to do! The only negative is for pet owners. There are some nasty little burrs around 90% of the campsites. They stick to your pets fur and get in their feet. Just stay on trails and roads when walking your dogs. Other than that, we had a great stay and will be back!

Dead Horse Ranch State Park is a perfect place to stay if you want to visit, Montezuma Castle National Monument, Tuzigoot National Monument, Old Cottonwood, Red Rock State Park, Jerome and the many Sedona attractions. Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot are pet friendly although if your pet doesn’t like stairs Tuzigoot may be a little more difficult walk for them. The price of one ticket covers both National Monuments and Tuzigoot is only 4 miles from the campground. Within the campground, there are three lagoons and miles of trails to hike or bike. The bathrooms are well maintained, and the showers had great water pressure. We were in site 91 which was a large site and level, but the metal picnic bench needs to be replaced. Brush between the sites adds privacy. Staff and the camp host were all very friendly and helpful. Firewood can be purchased for $8 cash from the camp host. The dump station is on the way out of the park is easy to access. Overall, we enjoyed the park. It was very quiet and a great location to multiple attractions.

My site was level and a pull through which was nice. The park was pretty much full yet still quiet. Lots of trails to hike and bike. I will stay here again.

Beautiful desert camping. Large sites, great Verizon service (I was easily able to work), trails and clean bathrooms/showers. Starry night skies and roadrunners! The whole area is great! Sedona (it has gotten so busy) Jerome, Prescott, Tuzigoot, Clarkdale and especially Cottonwood. We fell in love with the whole are!

Full service Campgrounds in the Sedona area are limited. This park is very nice and includes electric. Our site as less shaded than some of the others. May temperatures were in the 105 range so having electric was good. Location is 20 minutes from Sedona and close to Cottonwood and Cornville.

Beautiful quiet park with so much to do. Lots of hiking trails and roads to bike. The lagoons are beautiful with some people fishing. Nice playground for the kids. We saw 8 deer grazing last night. Highly recommend!

Sites are clean and park is very well kept. You have awesome access to many trails in the park and the Verde River is also very accessible.
The dump station is very accessible, of course if your leaving while everyone else is leaving, then you will have to wait a bit. But that isn't a problem. Rangers are friendly and so are the camp hosts.
I would totally stay here again.
OH, and it was so quiet. No highway noise as you are well off the main roads.
I did not have to use the bathrooms here so I am unable to comment on that.
But that is one of the reasons why I got a camper with a bathroom...

We stayed in RedHawk Loop and was backed up to hillside. We were able to get several TV channels with the OEM antenna as well as cell service. Several campers had mtn bikes, utvs, or M/Cs to explore nearby sights. We spent time in Old Town Cottonwood & another day in Jerome. Recommend restaurants Tavern Inn, Nic's in OldTown.
