With that said my original space was lot #3. It was not level, it was like taking a nose dive down the center of my RV. The camp host was very helpful with getting my lot changed to #12. The level lots are in the middle of the park and to the south of the office. The park is well maintained and the staff is very helpful.

Feel free to check out my blog and Youtube review that will be linked to this review, but this campground was a miss for me. I felt like they were trying to be an RV resort and not a State Park.

Roads to get here are narrow and winding. They do have a laundry facility.

We enjoyed a beautiful hike with an AMAZING view of the river and rapids. The sites are rather narrow but we had no issues getting in and out with our 34' 5th wheel. We would definitely stop here again if we are in the area! We had 2 bars of Verizon service using our MiMo antenna.

We have family in the area and came across this jewel while visiting. The grounds are well maintained. There are nice FHU and rustics sites with several miles of dog friendly trails. This is not a large State Park but it has a lot to offer. The historical site is a short walk from the campground and contains a plethora of information. The rangers are very friendly and gladly answer any questions as well as giving nature hikes and historical tours.
The sites slope downhill toward the river, but get leveler the closer you are to be he river. Large Motorhomes will want to avoid the first row (closest to the road) and possibly the second row. You will definitely need a few more leveling blocks on these rows. The last two rows are not too bad with few to no leveling blocks needed.
Note: If you have a long trailer or Motorhome, say 30’ or more. There are several routes to get here coming off of 11E. Make sure and call the campground for directions. You want to follow the route from the Limestone area that takes you under the railroad tracks. Otherwise you will be on some uncomfortable narrow curvy roads.

Booked a few months in advance online which was an easy process.
We had a fire in our tow rig and had to have the camper towed to the site by towing company. Since it was Friday of Labor Day it was completely full.
The sites numbered 50-60s are mostly level. We have a larger 5th wheel, and its really tight. I don’t think you could get a rig in there if the parking for the tent spots were full.
The sites 1-10 are NOT LEVEL. You will most likely not be able to get your rig level on these. They slope up dramatically.
The bathrooms were clean and the showers worked really well.
There are a few trails around, and plenty of history of David Crockett.
EVERY PERSON we met that worked here were fantastically friendly people. We had our rig in for service and actually stayed two additional days. The last day we stayed, the site we were in was booked. The staff called the campers, and they agreed to move next to us.
The only downgrade to this location is that the sites are too close together.
