This was our first stay at this National Forest and the roads were fine at the first 5-6 miles but as we got closer to Davis Pod the road has steeper hills and one section I didn't think I'd make it up as my front wheel Promaster was spinning its wheels. Once we got to the road to turn towards the pond it looked like I may want to reconsider especially if the camp area was flooded as TN had record rains. Pulled into a logging clearing on the side and slept the night. No knocks or any vehicle traffic. Super quiet.

I'm doing a review on this campground because there were not any done yet. Please do not bring an RV to this campground! Read the complete review.

I didn't camp here, but I did camp at the other campground in this forest. My ratings were chosen as if I wanted to tent camp in a very secluded area inside a gate that locks at sunset and opens at 5:30 eastern time.

A little over 6 miles of gravel road to the campground, the last mile or so is a very narrow one-lane road, only wide enough for 1 vehicle.

Campground is a small grassy area with a designated parking area separate from the tent sites. There would be no camping from your SUV, truck camper or in my case, a camper van. It's also the parking area for a popular hiking area. Appeared to have some sort of outhouse but looked run down. I visited in mid-March and there was one tent camper here.
