I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in site #18, an E/W, BI site for $15 a night with an America the Beautiful Sr. Pass. The roads and sites were asphalt. Watch the road as it had several good sized potholes and a hard right turn to get out of the lakeside loop. There are two sections of the park – one in a wooded area and one down lakeside. The lakeside sites are more open to the sun, less private and are close to the lake. The sites are spacious and the picnic area has a small table by the raised charcoal grill which was a nice touch. This site was very level. The bathhouse was clean, but the showers were locked. The washer was $1.75 but the dryer was out of order. I had 1 bar LTE with Verizon, 20.1 mbps download speed, no wifi and a small handful of OTA stations. The campground is 4 miles off the Natchez Trace and the road to there is a bit bumpy. The lake has some “spits” built out into the water which were lovely for sitting or fishing from the shore. It is a “no wake” lake so it was really peaceful and quiet. The dump station is kind of narrow. I couldn’t walk between the rig and the shrubs along side. The CG is about 30 minutes from Tupelo. I enjoyed my stay there and would stay again.

We always enjoy staying here.. It is a small campground just off the Natchez Trace. Being part of the National Park they recognize the Sr. Card. Some site are reservable but they also have first come first served sites. Be prepared to pay cash if you don’t reserve.

I would just call if you need a reservation. Your odds are excellent for a first come first serve due to the website goofiness. The site hosts are wonderful and very accommodating. Bathrooms, showers and grounds are available. Ice is available from the camp host. Nice swimming area adjacent to the campground. Major Shopping is available about 20 mins North. Dollar General (with grocery section) 5 miles west over rough road for 2 miles then it gets better.

If you’re a biker, the Natchez Trace is four miles away and the Tanglefoot Trail only a short distance. Shopping in both n/s directions, about a 25-30 minute drive.

Wife and I planned to stay at this campground for one night while on vacation traveling the Natchez Trace. However, the weather took a turn for the worse and we stayed and extra night to wait on the weather. This campground was a one of the most memorable stays ever on any of our trips. Such a beautiful, quite, peaceful, and just plain relaxing places we have ever camped period. I know I will be back in the spring with my boat to stay a few days and fish this beautiful lake.
Bathrooms, showers, laundry all readily available. We give this campground a 10++++ rating because this is a good as it gets in enjoying a peaceful campground off the beaten path with A1 friendly folks.....I'll be back...
We never turned a cellphone on so we don't know about the cell service? But rest assured...the best campground experience we ever had and we have been rv-ing a long time....
We camped in a Lance slide in truck camper....

The campground is adjacent to the Eastern shore of the 200 acre Davis Lake. 14 sites are right on the lake front offering spectacular sun rises and evening sun sets, The lake is known to anglers, and wildlife and birds are a given...we had a Great Blue Heron "friend" during our entire stay. The sites were level, paved, and all had nice spacing, picnic tables, fire pits and well cared for electric service (50 amp) and water. Dump station. Bathhouses were clean and laundry was available. Plenty of historic places to visit in the area and groceries are available in Houlka just 4 miles away. We visited in late September with only 6 sites in use...felt like we had the place to ourselves...and being located in the Tombigbee National Forest there was no light pollution making the night sky a spectacular sight to see.

Apparently, the camphost is in no hurry to take old reservation notices off the site posts because almost all of them had notices that were out of date and we thought they were booked up until we checked the dates on a couple of them. When we checked with him, both of the sites we liked were available. Also, once you have chosen a site, you have to drive all the way back to the park entrance to use the honor box to pay. Seems like they could put the box at the campground entrance...
Regular nightly fee is $20 but we paid $13 with our pass. Sites have electricity and water.
