We are staying on our way from Louisiana to Florida. We are so glad we did. The camp host, Dave, was very welcoming and helpful. It is so peaceful and quiet here. Away from road noise. We took a walk today to the alligator pond but unfortunately didn’t see any as it was cold and cloudy. But a local told us that a mama gator lays her eggs here in the spring and mama and her babies are often sighted in warmer weather. Oh well! We got site #43 and unfortunately our tow vehicle was too big to fit in our space so we had to leave it in the overflow lot which thankfully is just a few sites away. Great little campground with a couple of loops for our kids to ride their bikes around and us not to worry. We would definitely stay here again!

Davis Bayou and the adjacent town of Ocean Springs is a lovely area. Well worth a stop as it is much more peaceful than nearby Biloxi and Gulfport. The park itself has a nice set of nature trails, a boat ramp, fishing pier, and visitors center (currently closed). We saw an otter playing in the bayou one morning. Do be aware that there are many raccoons here and you will need to be careful with your food and garbage.
The campground itself is a mix and depending on your needs you will want to choose wisely. The outer loop of the campground tends to have smaller sites (particularly the higher numbered sites) and you may not fit with a large RV (stay away from site 47 as there is almost no space on the curb side of the parking pad). These sites are also closer together, though they do back up to the woods. However there is no screening vegetation between these sites. The sites in the middle of the loop are all large and spacious and will fit any size rig. There is a large grassy area between the sites, so you shouldn't feel crowded at all, though you will likely be in full sun. The sites themselves consist of an asphalt parking pad (which is just wide enough for your rig), a nearby concrete pad with a picnic table, and a fire ring.
While there is no beach at the park, the East Beach of Ocean Springs is a short bike ride away. Lovely sand stretches for over a mile and its hard to imagine it ever being crowded. The water here is quite shallow so don't plan on a swim as you can wade out for hundreds of feet and still be waist deep. I liked it because we could bring our dog to the beach which is unusual. Please clean up after your dog so that this stays open for dogs,
As a final note, we found Dave the camp host to be very helpful and knowledgeable. He's a resource you should consult.

You can bike from the park into town and along the water. The spots are typical state park a little bit I level but paved and with some space a picnic table and for pit. The showers are work but ‘private’ individual locking. I don’t think we’d stay more than a couple days but we enjoyed the stop.

Stabilizers were maxed out on 3 pieces of 2x wood. Our firepit was so close we couldn't have had a fire with the awning out. 16 was fairly secluded nice by me but the firepit took away from it. The park layout was nice, it was in 2 loops. We were at the end of 1. It appeared this was a regular stopover for a fair amount of campers. Bathhouse was decent, ok for me. Good pressure and hot water. Walking paths available along with a short hike to the gator pond. 5 foot gator laying on a log nose to nose with a large turtle. Best friends as it appeared to be. 20 minutes to Biloxi. Lot to eat and services every where off grounds. We were hoping to golf and Bike and hike. Between the rain and fog didn't do a lot. We had some much needed fix or repair work done on the truck. Needed that. A lot of rain that wasn't "normal" according to the locals.

Decent little campground in a great town. the main loop is decently big rig friendly maybe one turn that might cause you to double check your mirrors. The teens loop down toward sites 15-18 is a good bit less so, couple lower limbs that I suspect would get pretty close on a bigger rig and the turn at the end of the loop if there is nobody out in the road out of the front of their site you won't have any issue but I did have to drop the inside tires of my trailer off the asphalt just barely because of a toad parked in a site awkwardly, no biggie just might be relevant to someone with a 40+ footer. Make sure you check site descriptions carefully to make sure the site can accommodate your rig, Most are friendly, some are not. Ocean springs is a great town and this is a very decent option to stay if you're wanting to head to the Mississippi gulf coast. Great cell service, clean bath facilities, great shower pressure in the bath house, think pressure washer. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of noise and congestion that I didn't enjoy. Simply a reflection of my personal opinion.

There is no beach access at the park but is nearby in town. The town has everything you need or Biloxi is a short drive away. The campground is quiet and only 50 or so sites. Sites range from shady to full sun and recreation.gov has photos of each site. There is a nice walk from the campground to the visitor center which passes the bayou where we spotted a few baby alligators and a ton of snapping turtles.

The scenery is very pretty from the moment you enter Davis Bayou Park. A reminder of what Old Coastal South used to look like before ugly houses and commercial establishments took over the coastal landscape. This campground is small but really nice. Only one restroom structure with four separate lockable showers, but the facility seemed to somehow accommodate all the campers. The sites are clean and well maintained. Plenty of shade or sun. Friendliness abides in Davis Bayou. Reservations are made online and check-in is a breeze as you simply go to your campsite and set up camp. I stopped a lone ranger on the way in and asked the protocol and that is what he said. Absolutely no paperwork. Three nights totaled $33 which reflected my geezer discount by my holding a lifetime senior pass.
This is fortunately a bicycle-friendly park. Plenty of trails to ride on as well as a navigable ride into the charming old town of Ocean Springs. With a little homework one can figure out a somewhat serpentine ride from the campground which is much safer than using the main Park Road and then connecting to Government Road. There are blacktop trails off the campground that connect to subdivision streets leading into the older part of town, which is charming with small homes and plenty of shade.
Another added benefit was the reliable two bars of consistent cell service provided by AT&T. This again enabled use of our Nighthawk hotspot so streaming news, or Amazon prime and DirectTVNow, were available if desired.

We entered the campground on a Sunday and checked in with the Camp Host. We experienced some low limbs coming in and close corners (not difficult or impossible to turn) once into the campground. Site 19, our site, was 51' in length, but was narrow. It was paved but the ground around the pavement had washed away so you have a steep drop off from the paved parking area. We were very careful when stepping out of the RV.
The campground was quiet and the people were very friendly. Having two dogs, we would have appreciated better lighting in the campground. Otherwise, though, the campground was affordable and enjoyable!
