Great park for a weekend visit. We had a nice time hiking and trail running a few of the trails and enjoyed that you can hike the major trails from the campground. Campground 2 and bathrooms/ showers were very clean and up to date and site was mostly level. Sites back up to very open woods and we enjoyed listening to/watching the armadillos and owls at night. There was considerable highway noise though from our campsite and the $40+ tax and fees seems steep for a state park, but the campground was sold out.

We stopped here for an overnight stay on the way home from several weeks on the road. It was a Friday night, we were back where an a/c was a necessity and it was bookable for a single night. The pros are that it looks like the campground (we stayed in Loop 2) has recently undergone some renovations. The sites are concrete, with railings around one corner where it looks like it just used to drop off into a slope. The sites were wide enough, but in installing the new concrete, they don't appear to have made any attempt to make them side to side level. We had to use two boards on one side, and in walking around, I noticed several others that had to do the same. The bathrooms were clean, the campground was clean. TBH, this isn't really our type of campground. Although each site appears to be "roomy", you basically have your paved area and nothing else. No trees for privacy - although there are enough trees around the loops to keep it reasonably shaded. The price is a little steep for a state campground (in the South), especially considering there isn't sewer available at the sites. The dump station was at the exit to the loop - and I can foresee a big issue on check out day with campers lined up to dump their tanks. And while it's not the campground's fault, there were a LOT of highly decorated, extremely lit up campers there and they didn't turn those lights off when they went inside. Too much light pollution to put up with when trying to escape to nature. It's a decent overnight, but for people like us who're trying to experience and enjoy quiet and dark - this would not be somewhere I'd stay for any longer than a night.

This state park boasts a wooded secluded campground in Lawrenceburg TN. We really enjoyed getting into nature after doing some parking lot camping in Birmingham. Site 56 (in campground 2) is a water / electric (50 amp), asphalt site which said it was level online. It was actually 6 inches low in the back, so we had to go up on blocks with our motorhome. AT&T was 1-2 bars 5G, OTA channels (2-3 usable), wi-fi was n/a. They have a single dump station at beginning of Campground 2 which took up the entire outgoing lane. On Sunday, the dump station had a very long line! We ate breakfast at Crockett’s Mill Restaurant (located in the SP). Good food with great views of the lake! We went hiking both days on well-marked trails in the park.

Very clean park. Lots of paths for hiking or biking. Nice showers. RV spots don't have sewer but each campground has dump station. Few waterfalls to see.

Campground 2 - very big rig accessible and accommodating. Sites paved and very clean. Campground 1 not big rig friendly - no signage directions to sites, narrow roads, very not level sites, low water pressure.
Great park to share with nature!

We stayed two nights in Campground #2 (#1 was closed for the season--so was the restaurant), midweek in mid-January, and the campground was nearly empty--perfect! However, there was no campground host--didn't really need one, either. Bath house was a little messy from leaves and mud--it had been raining that week. Site was paved, level, easy access to elec/water, fire pit was a bit crowded, picnic table was good. Lots of downed wood and pine cones to burn. Trails were easy, clearly marked, sometimes historic and educational, and ranged from two feet from the road to isolated along the historic creek. Like almost all TN parks, it is a beautiful place. I also recommend driving down the Natchez Trace Pkwy if you are coming in from that direction. Lawrenceburg is just 50 yards outside park. Low price was the 50% senior rate. Gate closes in evening, but code is available. With reservation, you go straight to your site. Signs are posted that indicate no entry until 3:00, but we got there at 1:30 and had no issue. Maybe it's a big deal during peak?

David Crockett State Park is a fantastic place to camp! Each site has water and power. Sites also include picnic table and fire ring. Very clean and well kept. Bath houses are private and also clean. The park also has many trails for bikes and hiking, a free museum, David Crockett Falls, restaurant, pool and covered bridge. There are planned activities throughout the month to participate in if you so choose, for example guided hikes, etc. There is also a lake and Shoal Creek in the park to explore. Campground 1 is older. Many of the sites are too small for bigger rigs. Campground 2 sites can accommodate any size rig. NOTE: You can not check in until 3:00 pm, no exceptions. Only negative is that there is only 1 dump station at each campground so if you are leaving at the same time as many others, you will have a wait.

Site had level concrete pad and plenty of space for tents around. Bath house close and new and clean. Many sites here not level and some hookup sites are on the wrong side. Ours was correct but we still needed an extension for both water and electric. Kids loved the little creek and the trails are gentle and nice. Due to Covid pool was closed. When we come as a couple we like campground 2 better for peace and quiet
