Easy access to Bryce while nestled into a level safe forested spot. It is just down the road from night sky viewing. We could see the comet!

The hollow is great for walking - easy walking on the dirt road with some nice views if you go up some of the hills. There is a beautiful little herd of curious antelope in the hollow :)
The road in was a little rough but I just went slow. Would never do it when wet unless you had 4 wheel drive. I have 2 wheel drive van and did just fine.

We travel in a 28’ fifth wheel and parked in spot 17 located in the large loop for 4 nights while exploring Bryce Canyon. The back side of the inner loop is very rutted and rough but the outer roads are pretty good with some areas of low branches.
It is a very pretty area with deer passing through and such a great jumping off point for Bryce Canyon. Unfortunately, most of the spots are not far enough off the dirt road to escape the frequent dust clouds from passing cars and ATV’s. This is the fine powdery “moon dust” that gets everywhere. This is a busy location. Today after coming back to the campsite from exploring I noticed fresh horse hoof prints all over our campsite right next to our trailer. There was a truck and horse trailer parked about 200 feet away from our site and apparently he wandered around our site on his horse while we were obviously away in our truck. We were locked up tight and nothing but camp chairs were outside but I am suspicious why someone would do that.
We would not stay here again and would probably try Tom’s Best Spring next time. Thankfully there is an RV/truck wash right in town.
We entered from Hwy 63 just past Ruby’s Campground.

Our site was 2 miles from the entrance to BCNP. Our family kids road bikes from our site into the park.
Site 23 has an amazing view to the north. Good shade yet plenty of sun to top off solar each day.
The roads were fine. I entered from the west. I drive a Ford F-150 and pull a 21’ single axle travel trailer and had no problems. Some side roads had deeper ruts. Low clearance vehicles just keep an eye out.
Weather in mid May was between 30’s - 70’s. Site was often windy.
Lastly, we were close enough to other campgrounds/gas stations that filling water jugs and dumping wasn’t a problem.
Our family of 5 loved it here and would recommend to anyone looking to boondock bear BCNP.

There are indeed 26 sites and all are numbered.
We are here off season, so we have not experienced ATVs, but I am sure during the summer time this could be an issue.
We enjoyed the quiet and the closeness to Bryce.
Fire rings are your only amenity.
We entered from 63. There is a road right before the Bryce Canyon NP sign. Turn there and head back. There are 2 loops that have all the campsites.

I stayed here with a 24' trailer 5 years ago and it was great. It is just outside (less than 1/4 mile) of Bryce Canyon National Park. I returned in in a large 5th wheel in 2023 with the intent to camp here again but found I could not because the area had changed. It is now a popular designated off-road vehicle trail system. All the UTVs playing in the mud has chewed up the roads and created big ruts. Also, it now limits camping to about 17 designated sites. The large sites near the front that used to be good for big rigs no longer allow camping. If you are a tenter or have a small trailer and you don't mind rutted, bumpy roads, there are still some nice sites - just a lot less than before. Unfortunately you will get a lot of ATV/UTV noise.
