Hard to explain this experience. Had high hopes for our 1st night out, hmmm, not so good. Bathrooms were filthy, freight train right across the street from where we parked passed at least 6 times in the night. Hookups were sketchy but got the job done. Won't do that again. We camped at Dateland RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Plus side, we did have privacy towards the back and able to walk our dogs around. Train going by was semi noisy. We thought being the travel center was so clean and kept up that the rv park would be the same but sadly not. They definitely need to clean better and upgrade their facility. One the way back through, we picked a different park and opted NOT to stay here even 1 night again.

So, this is a dirt road access, dirt pad site desert property. Some trash was present about the sites and general campground. It does offer laundry and shower facilities which I used but they are old, poorly maintained and in general disrepair. The property is located directly adjacent to (2) Union Pacific train tracks with probably 20-30 trains going by daily, noise and ground vibration is present during same. You also hear background noise from nearby I-8. Now for the positive, great cell service as a tower is located on property. The daily rate for 30 amp full hookup was $18 plus tax. The travel center has fuel, supplies, food and great date shakes. There is a nearby date palm grove which was fun to walk for a break away from the afternoon sun..

There is some foliage between sites to provide some shade and privacy but no one parked near us. Full hookups a plus. Does include a laundry and bathrooms in a trailer building but did not use. No management on site, you have to register at the travel center. Trains are very frequent so if this bothers you choose a site farther away. Concert pads sandy parking area, fairly level. Nothing else to stop here for except in a pinch, you’re tired and need to sleep.

Stop in the Travel Center and register until 9:00pm and then drive about 1/4 mile of dirt road to get to a row of available spots and pick your own. Good hookups, plenty of space - no problem even in January. Close to the trains but no horns so not bad. Didn't use the facilities so can't comment. Good Verizon signal.

I stayed one night, camping in my minivan. There was no one parked even close to me. The area was very clean, as were the showers. I used earplugs because almost all of the campgrounds along my route have a train nearby. I'm pretty used to it.

Gravel, but level and cannot ask for more. The train noise has been mentioned before, but it is not onerous. Never bothered me.
Great spot for overnight full hookup.

The convenience store is well stocked and includes a pretty nice gift selection if you're looking for a souvenir to take back home. There is also a Quiznos sub shop and an ice cream counter where we got the best date shake we've ever had. WiFi is not available in the campground itself but you can get a good connection for free in the coffee shop at the convenience store. All in all this is not a bad deal especially considering the reasonable price for your site.

Dateland RV Park was just right for one night's stay between Yuma and Phoenix. Pay first at Dateland Travel Center and then cross the road to the small RV park. It's mostly full-time residents, with about 20 spaces for overnighters. The overnight sites are all pull thrus, and long enough for any sized rig. There was only one other overnight rig there when we camped. There is a very dated laundry room with a couple washers and dryers, and private shower rooms with sink, toilet and shower. Everything was decently clean, but the whole place was really run down. The park is inbetween the highway and a railroad track, so there's a fair bit of noise. But, because the train does not blow a horn, we didn't find it too annoying. It's not a destination park by any means, but it did have a couple awesome things going for it: a super low price, yummy homemade date ice cream at the Travel Center, and the fastest internet I've ever had!
