Stayed Feb 10, 2020. Beautiful park that juts out into the lake in a few places. Well maintained back-in sites are level. Fire rings and picnic tables with amazing lake views. Off-season check-in is very frustrating because of a lack of information. There's a pay drop slot with instructions but no pay envelopes and nebulous information about "Limited camping seasons" a couple times per year. Had to call Deputy Sheriff Dudley at the Hickory County Sheriff's Dept (417-745-6415). He seemed to believe camping was free (today is Feb 10) because water and electricity are turned off, bathrooms are locked, etc. Since he patrols the area, he indicated it was ok for us to stay for free. We were the only people in the entire campground.

Overall Rating
Not a bad spot anywhere in the campgrounds. Water and electric, no sewer but there is a free dump station. Very peaceful and gorgeous. If you like to fish even better. Sites are pretty level and easy to access with some pull through. Shower and bathroom areas and even laundry.
