Have visited many times, for weekend Sunday drives. Easy to get to. Newly graded and graveled road this year 2022. Families stay here. Fishing in the lake. Very beautiful and serene. I live in Rapid City. It's about 40 minutes to the campground. The pictures I uploaded were in late spring and the lake was still frozen.
Campsite is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Water supply did not pass inspection (coliform bacteria) so not available at this time. Absolutely beautiful with creek along back of campground, lots of wildlife. Neighbors caught several small trout for their supper in tiny dalton lake. Well maintained campground, 3 fishing piers. No signal at all as it is down in a canyon. Good pack... more

We wish we had founnd this place before Wind Cave as this one is so much nicer! Close enough to all the attractions but more affordable. Right on Centennial Trail, tucked in the woods on a small lake. Swimming, fishing, hiking... Good dirt road access. First come first serve.
