Do not be fooled by a campground in the middle of nowhere, Salem SD. This site lived up to all of the 5 star reviews and more! Unbelievable size pull through sites. Do not be fooled by a campground in the middle of nowhere, Salem SD. This site lived up to all of the 5 star reviews and more! Unbelievable size pull through sites. Our pull through site, including half of the very nice grass between the next site, was 35x100 feet! Incredible sites with super nice grass and shade trees! New owners were very pleasant to engage with, and waited after normal hours for us to arrive! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone!!

Excellent front of the house! They’ll help out anyway they can. Clean showers and bathrooms. A few washers and dryers priced appropriately. It’s old school in a good way. Not much for frills, or things around to do. But an excellent spot to relax, or even just a night stop off on your drive across SD. If it was closer to anything this would get 5 stars from me. But for being an old school, middle of the nowhere RV park - I think they’re doing a fantastic job.

Looking forward to another great stay. This time 7 days.
Just a note to let everyone know there is no swimming pool. Was taken out a while ago.
No loss,the park is Wonderful without the pool.
There is a public pool in Salem( approximately 2 miles).

This was a great campground! Due to mechanical problems with our truck, we arrived late in the evening. The manager could not have been nicer, and went above and beyond our expectations to accommodate us. She even gave us home-baked cookies that were fabulous (and served as dinner!)! This was a great campground! Due to mechanical problems with our truck, we arrived late in the evening. The manager could not have been nicer, and went above and beyond our expectations to accommodate us. She even gave us home-baked cookies that were fabulous (and served as dinner!)! It was the cleanest, prettiest, well maintained campground we’ve stayed at in a long time of camping across the country. The pads were packed gravel and perfectly level. Each site had a large, grassy area with big containers overflowing with beautiful flowers. The restrooms were very clean. The WiFi was very good. And FYI there was a perfect view of the moonset and sunrise! Our only regret was not being able to stay a little longer to recover from the stress of the day in such a lovely environment.

Friendly staff. Beautiful place just far enough from I90 to be convenient yet quiet. Green grass nice shade trees. One of the nicest campgrounds I’ve ever been in.

This time we stayed for six days. Only 35 miles to Sioux Falls SD. New owners and it looks Wonderful. The hosts are fantastic. Small store. Two washers/three dryers. $2.00 wash/$1.00 dry plus large dryer $.25 per 8 minutes. Didn’t use facilities. Small town of Salem 2 miles. Nice grocery store in town.

Clean. Quiet (with road noise but that dies down at night). Well situated. Really loved the place. Thank you for the fresh baked cookies too! Such a nice touch to make us feel welcome.

If you crossing South Dakota on I 90. Just west of Sioux falls is Spenser SD is Dakota Sunsets RV park. 25495 hyw 81 Salem SD and what a great find to stay. Half the price of campgrounds in Sioux falls and 1.5 miles north of the interstate so very quiet. Grounds are immaculate and staff if very welcoming and helpful.
