Cypress Campground & RV Park

(October 1, 2022 – April 1, 2023) Cypress Campground & RV Park is a wonderful place to winter in Florida. The facility is one of about a dozen Applebrook RV Parks around the country. At this park, there are so many activities available that it is hard to choose which one to do first. Outdoor activities include Bocce’ Ball, Tennis, Pickle Ball, Basketball, Miniature Golf, Shuffleboard, Horseshoes, Pool Volleyball and Pool Aerobics. The Recreation Hall activities include arts & crafts, movie night, BINGO, game night, dances, and so much more, one would never be bored. Billiard & Poker tables are located within the Lending Library at the Office building. Each tenant has their own mailbox and USPS, FedEx & UPS deliver daily. There are Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Seasonal rates. Seasonal rates are for 6 Months and an optional 6 Months storage available.

The park managers and maintenance staff always have a smile on their faces and will go out of their way to help you out. This park is clean and well cared for however, Corporate should spend the $$ into upgrading the electrical system to handle the newer Class A’s and other such units. Additionally, some of the drives could use a re-paving and perhaps a re-alignment to accommodate the large rigs. The property is mature with a few park models and several 5th Wheel permanent residents but not too cluttered. There are pull-throughs and back-ins, long term and overnight options. They have storage in the front and back. The pool is heated and well maintained.

Walmart shares the East property line fence wall, so Cypress has its own private golf-cart access in the rear. Additionally, there is a rear access to the street behind with two golf courses. Located in Central Florida, Winter Haven has all the necessities and Legoland. You are central so you are less impacted by the weather. Tampa & the West Coast is an hour away, Daytona, Cape Canaveral and Vero Beach on the East Coast is between 2hrs and 1hr 30min. while Orlando and Disney World is Northeast about an hour. And of course Bok Tower and Gardens are just a short drive off US-27. We made so many new friends it was sad to say goodbye. We are already counting down the days to go back next season.

Our family stayed 3 nights here while we visited LegoLand. The pool was open and our kids enjoyed it. The spot was a little tight to get in and out of, but nothing too difficult. While the concrete patio was a bit worn, the site was level. We had no issues during our stay, the staff was polite. The walkway to Walmart was nice so we didn't have to drive over to grab a few things we had forgotten.

We were here before the start of the "high season". The campground was clean and inviting. Facilities also very clean. We used the pool, the ping-pong at the game room, laundry, and the free cable TV. Our site was on the side of the campground and adjoined the local Walmart (separated by a substantial 8 ft "adobe looking" wall).

The staff was pleasant & friendly.
