Very clean well maintained campground. Double entry gate for campground at night, so call ahead if checking in after office closes.
Can’t beat the sunrise and sunset views glorious!!! About an hour from Key West.
Great bike path to Marathon. Check out Sweet Savannah’s and Burdine’s restaurant

The dump station is well placed near the garbage and easy to use. The sites are pretty level and most are covered in little white stones. There is a picnic bench and a barbecue at your site.
As for dogs, well, its not very dog friendly. They allow them but basically just in the campground and a short trail. They are not allowed on the beach or in the day use park. Also, the sites are surrounded by thick bushes with tons of stickers. Ouch. Pups got a face full the first day. No chickens though. Thank goodness. They drove my terrier crazy in Key West.
Try to get the beach side obviously for the sunrise that will come right in your windows. But still any site is a short walk to what feels like a private beach. Be careful of jellyfish. Ouch for humans.
We scored a coveted ocean spot for 8 nights. Usually these have to be reserved 11 months in advance. I have been camping here for years in a tent, then 20 foot travel trailer, then a class B, now 35 foot Fifth Wheel. All accommodated easily here. The sites have a gravel surface so make sure you have a pad to sleep on if you are tent camping.
Besides the dog issues, there is also the noseeums (tiny, vicious little flying bugs that bite) at sunrise and sunset. Best to cover up and maybe spray yourself down. Its well worth the pictures.
For the Kitesurfers:
One of the best Kitesurfing Beaches in the Keys, confined to the Day Use side of the park for launching and Landing. I have been Kitesurfing here for a decade, awesome spot for east winds. The Day use side has excellent bathrooms and outdoor shower to rinse off after a kite Session.

The campground is conveniently located near Marathon so shopping and restaurants are just minutes away and while dogs aren’t allowed on the beach at the campground both coco plum and sombrero beaches nearby allow dogs on leash.
The spots are a sand/gravel mixture and nice and wide. Electric and water at each site and a dump station at the end of the loop.
Bathrooms and showers are brand new and always clean.
Cell service was great with both AT&T and Verizon

Close to Marathon stores, fishing charters, restaurants, bars, and shopping. Kayaking around the island is a treat or go out a .25 mile to the sandbar. Site 21 was amazing. Looking out the front door directly to the beach. And no one else in site thanks to the layout of the site.

I loved the beach. I had it pretty much to myself. While low tide wasn’t great for swimming because of sea grass, high tide was fine. I enjoyed snorkeling because of the abundance of sea life. We took our kayak out to one of the sand bars (near the channel markers) and those are great to swim from at low tide.
The bathhouse was modern and nicely kept. They also had a book exchange there. No laundry facilities.
The sites that are on the ocean side Face the sun for most of the day, so bring a sun shelter. Our awning did not provide a lot of protection. Next year we will be on the other side, so our trailer will block most of the sun. At the beginning of April the sun is still at quite an angle.

There’s a short walkway to get to the beach, it’s sandy, but lots of seaweed too. Cell service was decent here with the cell booster. Bathrooms were clean (we were there right after the new bathroom building was installed). We saw lots of iguanas. Pretty convenient location for groceries considering it’s the FL Keys.

Because its shallow the windsurfing kayts are popular and can be crowded with kayt surfers that can get annoying. Not much swimming or none at all. Kayaking can be done in the loop around the park. Bathouses are under reno and considering the snail speed of the 2-3 man crew it will not be finished anytime soon. There is no attractions anyware close, if you like nice beach and something to do Bahia Honda is a better choice. Noseeum flyies can be ovelwhelming at times. The hosts are friendly and nice and keep the place clean.
No WiFi. Stores are located in Marathon, 15-20 min drive.

Main bathroom was closed for repairs and from the pace of the construction crew, it may be a while before it reopens. If you are near or at a site near the bathroom you might be bothered by some noise during the day for a few hours. However there are good substitute bathrooms with showers. Lots of volunteers to help and clean, plus occasional events for campers. Overall a good spot, if you can get in. Accesssbility is usually very tight.
