We made online reservations for Ridgeline Campground in Cumberland Falls state park. Upon entering the state park (there was a smallish sign on the side of the road indicating we were in the park) we began looking for signs. The first sign we saw was for "Campground B." As luck would have it this was also Rideline Campground. We checked in at the camp store and were told that our reserved site 28 was very unlevel.

We were given a list of 3 other available sites to choose from. Those sites were along the ridge. The road is single lane but traffic runs both ways in this part of the campground. Sites are lined up on both side of the road. These sites were a gravel parking spot, a paved pad for RV, a gravel area with a picnic table and fire pit. Then immediately the next site boundary began. There is no privacy. Water and electric are between every other site so our electricity line ran under our rig to reach the electric pole. To get into our site we had to swing our tow vehicle into the site across the street to back into our site. Thankfully that site was empty or we wouldn't have been able to get into our site. Our travel trailer is 18 ft long and we were just barley out of the road. It was hot and we ran our ac all night so we didn't hear any noise from other campers.

Comments:
Most RV sites are for small rigs only.
Avoid sites 28, 29, and 30 - very unlevel
Sites 9-16 and 21-27 are tight back in sites with no privacy
Sites 32 and 35 are listed as tent sites but larger RV did use these, they were just set up on the side of the roadway
Sites 17 and 18 are listed as RV sites. Really? I just don't see how a rig would fit or be level.
Tent sites 37 and 39 are right beside the horse trail.
Tent site 20 is a double site and offers the most privacy in the campground. But it is the furthest from the bathhouse.

Some tent sites wouldn't be so bad. Most have wooden platforms to set up tents on giving a level place to set up. There is wifi in the campground and the hot spot was our site #26. (We realized that after we set up.) The camp store has everything you may have forgotten or run low on, a dozen eggs cost .99! The camp store sells wood. Bath house was adequate and laundry is also available.

We had reservations for 2 night because we had signed up for white water rafting with Sheltowee Trace Adventures down the road. However, after the trip and after a horseback ride we decided to pack up and get some miles driven. As the weekend crowd poured in it was clear the evening would not be a nice peaceful secluded state park trip we'd hoped for.

There are two campgrounds, Clifty which we were told was for pop-ups. The other one, Ridgeline, is for larger pop-ups. Our 26 MH would be pressed to fit into any of the level sites and we passed on those with a steep incline.

Can’t think of a reason to stay here. Nothing scenic can be seen from the campground. The whole area is cluttered with cabins, restaurants and coffee shops that might have been attractive in the 60’s.

Park in the lot at the river and see the falls, take pictures, eat lunch, then drive on.
