We loved the scenic camping and historical sites there. It's where the Mississippi River and crow wing rivers meet and join. Native American history and cultural site information along with early settlement sites. Beautiful River overlook areas by campsite along with hiking trails. Loved it

We have a 36’ Super C and the ground was soft, so we gave up trying to level after an hour and called it good enough. Trails are good for kids but lots of mosquitos so bring spray. Some access to the river, no swim beach. Bathrooms were okay. Water available at the dump station, which was clean and accessible. Good for history buffs. firewood available at check in (which was closed but firewood available by honor system.

There are some very nice trails here (14 miles!), including steps directly from the campground down to the Mississippi River, making this a good state park to camp at for a few days. There are 61 sites, 12 of which are electric. The sites with no hookups on the outer loop and not next to trails probably have the best privacy (21, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28) but the road out has no-hookup sites separated with trees from other sites so they're good too (32-39). As far as electric sites go, there's very little privacy.
If it looks like there's plenty of spots open, I say just show up and register the one you think looks best from your phone. Otherwise, no site is better than the rest, just try to book a site not next to an occupied one. 16e had good privacy, but being next to the restroom/shower building means there's more people walking by and being loud. Ice and wood for sale at the main office, and there's a dump station.
The big negative here (or nerdy positive, if you're interested in gawking) is that the state park is across the river from Camp Ripley, so military planes frequently fly over, even during the middle of the night, and they're loud.
webster would stay here again
