Crocker Campground was a stopover on my first night in California. The campground was easy to find. Although the campground roads are dirt, it's just a turn off the paved road. The privacy was excellent, as only one other site was occupied. The Crocker Guard Station is located within 5 minutes walking distance of the campground. Note that this is primitive camping - no water, trash service (plan to pack it out), lighting, or electrical hookups. The only amenities were the pit toilets, which were well kept and clean, picnic tables and fire rings. At night, it was wonderfully quiet and there are tall trees throughout the sites.

I'm a tent camper, so any patch of level ground will do, but it could be less desirable for RVs. There are several sites which will work fine for smaller rigs.

I would definitely return to Crocker. I rated 4 stars because it lacks amenities and is not accessible to larger RVs. As a tent camper, I would certainly stop here again.
