“Nice spot, great falls”

Stayed here to visit the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone. Despite the previous review, the attentive and friendly camp host, who is in his second year here, said he hasn't seen or heard of a single bear. No cell reception on Verizon or AT&T. Didn't use toilets.

“Great views, lots of bears”

Basic forest service camp. Gravel roads and pads, table, fire ring, vault toilets, bear boxes, and garbage service. No water. All but two sites are back-in, the host usually has one of the pull-through sites occupied. No dedicated tent pads at the sites. There can be quite a bit of traffic noise during the day as folks head between Yellowstone Park, Chief Joseph Pass, and the Beartooth Highway but it gets quiet after dark. From the hill behind camp you'll have a clear view of Pilot and Index peaks - great for sunset photography. And right across the highway is a trail to Crazy Creek Falls.
I have stayed here on several occasions and each time bears have come through camp - usually in the middle of the night. Be sure to mind all bear country camping rules while staying here and keep everything under lock and key in your vehicle or in the bear boxes.
