The campsites are pretty level gravel. They were shaded and close to the lake. We went to have a shower and the shower curtains were see through and needed a good power washing.

Sites seem to be well maintained, but electric is showing its age - definitely check with your meter before plugging in (30amp, BTW). Site had a fire ring, lantern hook, picnic table, good gravel surface. Beautiful bath house, but standing water in every stall. No way for water to escape with block walls on three sides. No drainage except by the sinks. Really poor design. So, if you HAVE to use the shower/bathroom facilities, wear your boots.

Husband and I have stayed here twice now. There are several campgrounds and we have stayed in Crappie Cove both times. Sunflower campground is the only full hookup campground, but we have opted not to stay there due to it not being on the lake, or having any sort of trees and shade. Crappie Cove is one of the last 3 campgrounds all with 30 amp and water hookups and right on the lake. We stayed at site 11 this last time and site 18 the first. Site 11 is kind of sunny, but with the way the driveway is angled, looking out our camper door we could only see the lake, not the neigbors, which we really enjoyed. Site 18 is very shaded and doesn’t have a campsite directly next to it. The only downside was there was a locust tree (I think that’s what it was) and there were long thorns all over the site.
The campgrounds are close enough to walk around, and there is a “nature path” that connects the campgrounds to the beach area. The beach was closed both times we went as it was off season, but seemed to be well maintained. Overall we really enjoy camping here.
