A stray dog :( greeted us when we came in and this place has been taken over by broken down cars and homeless. Pretty disappointing.

I've used this location as a 'quiet place to sleep'. Old gravel pit across highway draws target shooters during daylight hours.
Sites are in a small canyon near Crab Creek. Very green area with lots of birds & bugs. Several creek or canyon edge hikes possible.
To get cellphone coverage climb half way up hill on north side of canyon. Can hike or drive (high clearance needed) to old farm/ranch homestead northwest of sites.
My stops have all been weekday. For one had the place to myself. Other two 'vagabond' appearance rigs in two sites . . . no issues or concerns.

Lots of room, easy to get level. Any size rig will fit. There were two other rigs here when we arrived. A car full of people showed up while we were here and went shooting nearby. Lots of flies. Fine for the night.
1 bar of Verizon and T-Mobile, two bars boosted

A hidden gem. Some highway noise during the day but silent at night. Great place to take a walk along Crab Creek. There are two fire rings and two picnic tables available.

It was Labor Day weekend and we hadn’t made any plans. We were on our way back from Alaska and Canada and got back into the lower 48 much quicker than we had planned.
After one night at a NFS Campground we started to look for someplace to stay for the weekend. We picked out 5 different campgrounds and worked our way through the first four (all full) and ended up at this BLM. Driving here, 10 minutes off the freeway (all beautifully paved) I was certain we were going to end up in a farmers field or gravel pit. Wow was I wrong.
First, this is a very small BLM camping area. No water, no dump, no trash, no toilets and no shade!
However, it’s very clean, quiet, several picnic tables and very easy to camp with any size rig. While we were there, we had three groups of tent campers come in the evening. Two groups were father sons and one looked to be passing through. We felt very safe at this BLM.
Verizon and ATT worked well but ONLY with a booster.

Bullpen style location and I would say tons of room for several 40' rigs + toads. a few picnic tables are here. there was 1 person here on day one and then I had the whole space to myself. trails are going off in several directions. the larger gates were closed (perhaps because of the fire restrictions), so no place to ride your toys. even though the site is along the main paved road, the traffic is light. mostly folks pulling horse trailers and only doing the day.
cellular service notes: Verizon voice quality was good 95% of the time. my tmobile had 6 Mbps download rate. my Verizon mifi had no service without a booster. I have the $30 directional one and pointing it east to score 24 Mpbs and I was streaming Hulu and Amazon without any issues.
If I was traveling east or west along i95 and wanted a place to rest and stretch out, then this is a very nice place that is quickly and easily assessable from the interstate.
