I would not attempt to come with any motorhomes with limited ground clearance due to a hill and gully you must cross. The camping spot cannot be seen from the main forest road being about 300ft around a bend to your right as you approach. The small path dead ends at the campsite.
If its occupied you might have to back out, so scout out first. We found another pull out about 500ft further down the forest road you drive in on. Lots of private land all around and sometimes difficult to tell whether your in the national forest or on private land.

There is a spot here and on the right down a ‘road’ right before here. This spot is just okay. Wouldn’t camp here if someone was already here. Could fit 2 rigs if you knew each other. No trash except for some tp in the woods (yuck-please don’t).
We had a few RV‘s come by. Not an easy place to turn around after, but the road does come out to the highway eventually.
Custer State park is a must! So much to do/see/hike!
Had a bunch of turkeys come into camp.
Unfortunately we didn’t get any pictures. Also we had zero service.

We had no trouble getting there in a Prius. The campsite is on the right just past where another dirt road enters. There is a flat spot where we pitched a tent. Very quiet though we could hear vehicles on the paved road nearby. We picked up a couple empty cans that were left behind at the site.

If you keep going down the road there’s houses and no pull offs. The road to the right at the entry has one spot just before private property. It would be difficult to turn around if you had a trailer or rig larger than 24 feet. The second spot had no signal. We drove out here based on the other review but had to drive back to town to get enough signal to find something else since someone was parked in the one spot on the hill we could get into. Would not recommend.

Not many may have use the place as grass are tall but not a concern as they are not those pesky weeds. There are a couple of residents that live further down the road and pass by 3 times on their dune buggy to check on us but left us alone when they realized we got rv's and not setting up or maybe no fire. they wave at us on their 3rd pass by as if giving us their okay after checking us out several times. there is no fire ring so we assume that it is being discouraged. pack in, packed out. the site is close to highway. the coordinates on app is true to its location but if this one is taken, just go further down the road as there are a few more dispersed area.

This is a dispersed camping site in the Black Hills National Forest. We were able to get our 42' 5th wheel in the spot coming from either direction. It was a little wet so we had to use 4WD while backing in, but it wouldn't be required if it was dry. We also were able to fit a 38' Class C in the spot alongside us. There was very little... more

It was a little wet so we had to use 4WD while backing in, but it wouldn't be required if it was dry. We also were able to fit a 38' Class C in the spot alongside us. There was very little traffic on the road. We had 1 bar of 4G LTE with Verizon, but it was slow. We did not have service with AT&T.
