“a place for relaxation and hot spring mineral waters”

Bob the dog cost $15 to stay at Cottonwood. I have no idea why there was a charge for him in the “tent” sites. The total price we paid of $112 covered Bob, our campsite for one night, and the unlimited use of the hot springs for both of us. We went twice the first day and twice again the next day before having to check-out by 1PM.
There is no TV, no internet, no WIFI, no cable, and no AT&T service. This is a place for relaxation and hot spring mineral waters. Many natural man-made rock pools to choose from and none are overly crowded. The grounds are well maintained and the surroundings are beautiful. Our campsite was creek side and made for great sleeping.
Overnight rooms are available to rent in the main lodge and there are individual cabins to rent. There are seven “tent” sites here which means pretty much what it says. Sites 1 and 2 are off the main parking lot and have a bit of privacy. They are for the likes of truck campers or Sprinter vans. Sites 3 and 4 are the most private and with shade and are good for small RV’s no longer than 19’. Sites 5-7 are for vans, truck campers, or tents mostly and offer zero shade and privacy. This basically not a campground at all but instead a place to park for the night and enjoy the hot springs 24/7 if so desired.
There is no dump station and no water. Bring your own.
Nomad Reign RV would stay here again

“SHAME ON THEM - PLAIN FILTHY!”

My daughter and I rented Cabin 2 for two days for a COVID escape and should have left when we opened the door and found a young fella sitting on the futon - he turned out being the help and in fact did not clean anything!!
I spent the first 45 minutes of my supposed mini vacay - cleaning the kitchen and high touch points of the cabin in addition to washing the dishes that we intended on using. The counters had grime visible to the eye upon entry. The fridge had dried blood, hair and debris in it. The stove had caked on food running down the door - nothing had been cleaned with soap and water in a very long time! One of the beds was a 1920's spring filled bed - literally - no filling only springs! So we were also unable to sleep decently either.
When brought to the front desk attention, it was noted that he had heard about our check in experience but all he had to say is "We clean our rooms daily" and then "What do you want me to do?". There were no apologies much less an offer of a reduced rate - either would have sufficed. My intent was to ensure he was aware that their lack of basic cleanliness could actually result in killing people during the COVID pandemic - SHAME ON THEM!!
The common pools were simply more grossness as their was so much "Junk" floating it was unnerving - I am a seasoned Hot Springer traveling throughout CO, WY and NM - never seen anything like the filth I encountered here....just terrible to know people exist like this.
This place clearly exist ONLY to make a buck and cares nothing about their customers health or experiences...
Came home more stressed than upon arrival - should have just stayed home and really hope we don't get COVID as a result of our Cottonwood Hot Springs visit but it won't be a surprise.
Lesson learned and as a CO native that alone is HUGE!!
