We had the place to ourselves because it was wintertime. I work full time on the road and asked about a late checkout. I was told to pay a $5 day use fee. I came in about 3, plenty of spots to pick from- everything looked level, too! Found a nice shady pull through, perfect for the night.

Arrived on Wednesday, April 14th, 2022. First come CG, many sites open. We chose one on the outside which I think was a pull-through. I stayed here two nights and did a jeep tour of the canyon, which was incredible. Agree with other review that there are goathead stickers everywhere, the picnic tables are old, and there are sweet reservation dogs looking for food. So many have written about the goathead and how they are everywhere. My dog and I stayed on the blacktop in the park. I walked her over to the lodge to take care of business. Of course I cleaned up after. Problems averted.

My site was level. I was able to empty my tanks and fill with fresh water. It was OK.

The campground needs improvements. The grounds are full of prickers, causing trouble for your dog. No fire pits although I don’t know why, plenty of room between sites. If you want to see Canyon de Chelly this is your best choice. Just don’t expect a 5 star facility.

All tables in campground need replacing and as said previously goat heads and red ants are horrible. What is the worse is the feral dogs that are allowed to roam free through campground disturbing our chained up dogs causing them to bark and disturb other campers.

Nice campground, very quiet in the winter time. Lots and lots of good burrs, bring a broom to sweep your site before you do anything, and check your shoes every time you come into the tent or trailer.
Water is turned off to the campground for the winter, have to bring your own water from outside the park.
Otherwise, a nice place to stay.

Being the only game in town, this CG was OK. The asphalt pad was level. Able to pick a site that had good exposure for our solar. CG was clean. Did not use the facilities. Scaling back for winter. Loop 3 and all spigot save one was shut off. On night 2 we were the only ones in loop 2.
