Overall Rating

To reach the dispersed camping turn a the back of Elbert Forebay dispersed and travel down a gravel road. At the first fork hang a right and head into a thick pine forest. The first sites are in this area. They are not level and suited for smaller rigs.

As you travel along the forest opens into a creek bottom. There are sites that overlook this area and some old mine buildings. Continuing down into the creek one passes some mining activity (removed a star for the daytime noise). Keep towards the right and continue up the other side for a handful of more sites.

The road does degrade as one progresses, and the turns are tight so smaller, high clearance rigs would fare better. We did not require 4X4.

We had 1 bar of Verizon 4G and 1 bar of AT&T 4G
