This area is starkly beautiful -- large open valley with mountain ranges in the distance all round. Quiet, lots of wind, not many people (i.e., there were spots available on spring break weekend. Drinking water, garbage and recycling receptacles at visitor center.

This place was easily accessible in my hatchback and close to Vegas. They say the condition of the road worsens as you go along, but I had no problem reaching the first spot, and I saw another small sedan venture farther down the road and back a while later, so I assume it's doable if you drive carefully. There's a nice visitor center with bathrooms. It was near silent out there in February, which was lovely. I only saw a couple other cars. Very cold at night but worth it for a peaceful and free place to sleep.

Stayed here 1 night. Drive down the road until it turns to dirt. Turned left at the tee and camped about a mile down on the right. We were the only ones in that area. Plenty of room for others. Lots of animals making noise, but didn’t see any.

We were looking for a safe spot to leave our rig while we visited Vegas. This was the perfect spot, you have to drive past a ranger station and a visitor center. The ranger does drive around a few times a day checking out the area which made us feel better. We were here a total of 10 days. The first 4 or 5 days were very quiet with very little traffic. The last half of our stay had a lot more traffic. There are a lot of pickup trucks and off road vehicles that come through here, although it does quiet down at night. There are only 3 spots we found big enough to fit our 34ft ClassA, and we recommend taking a left at the stop sign. There are 2 sites without having to travel too far down the dirt road. The road to the right was very rough.

Drive along Corn Creek Road and pass the visitor centre to your left. Alamo Road is a gravel road and is just after the centre, it T-intersects at the top. After talking to the local ranger, there are campsites whether you turn left or right but there is more space to the left. Make sure you park in the designated areas that are fenced (you can't miss them!)
Sites were largely spaced with lots of room. RV/Trailer may require levelling. Road is rough in parts.

It’s very quiet at all hours and not busy at all. We had great cell service here and received good solar as well.
It’s about 30 minutes into Las Vegas. There’s a nice walking trail located behind the visitors center. It’s paved and looks fairly new! Our dogs enjoyed walking around there.
Definitely recommend for a free spot somewhat close to Vegas. We enjoyed our time there!
