RVers have a choice of Water & Electric or small RVs can dry camp. This campground also has trails, lake and a visitor center. IF you are here in the spring you will also see lots of Bluebonnets, the Texas State Flower. For more about this, our 3 visit, please watch our video: https://youtu.be/wyOHCIgkLtY

I stayed one night and wish I had made plans to stay a few days. Nice clean quiet campground. Sites were level and spaced nicely.

We stayed during September, very hot weather. Site was level and easy to back into. The best part of our stay was the amazing night sky- the Milky Way was very prominent.

Resevoir so low could not use water for anything. Grass so dry made burrs stick to dogs and shoes. Had to spend 30 mins deburring each dog after they went outside. 2 days here not enjoyable at all. High heat and dry vegetation made stay very uncomfortable.

This was a fun stopover. We were right next to the bathroom so the lights were on the whole night which interfered with star gazing. But the sites were level with decent amount of space to spread out.

Nicely spaced level sites. Wide open views of the sky which is ideal for this International Dark Sky Park. The stargazing is top notch. Bathrooms were clean, just keep an eye out for scorpions. Bathrooms were clean, just keep an eye out for scorpions. One climbed out of the overfill gap in the sink and caused me to nearly jump outta my skin (I’m terrified of scorpions, snakes, and spiders). 😣
Camp hosts, staff and park rangers are lovely, friendly and helpful.
I have been here once so far and am already planning my next visit.

Copper Breaks State Park was a 1 night stopover for us. Sites are in a open grassy area, but nicely spaced. The bathroom was dated, but clean. There was no hot water for the shower. We didn't get to see the lake or hike any of the trails, but worked for a 1 night layover.

Stayed here on the way to Colorado specifically because it is an international dark sky location. The trails were great with beautiful views. Went on a ranger lead night hike and I cannot recommend it enough. Hunting for and counting the scorpions was a highlight of the hike for my kids and the stars weren’t too shabby either. The shade shelters at each site are really nice. The playground could be a little nicer but the kids still had a great time. Tried to go swimming but the lake has definitely suffered from the ongoing drought and the water level was down significantly. We could still swim but we had to go to a different area to access the lake.

I am a camper that loves protected wilderness wherever I go. I must have QUIET! I really enjoyed my time this last two days. The campground is clean and well maintained, check-in a breeze. Site was level and the restrooms/showers were clean. Cool (Feb), calm, and quiet. perfect respite from the busy world!
