We really like this place, the hosts are easy to work with if there are any issues. The sites are spacious and folks are nice. The creek runs on one side and it’s nice to hear it..... great little campground that can handle good size rigs.

We were looking in the area for a site over a holiday weekend and ended up at Cooper Creek North. The Cooper Creek Campgrounds are split into North and South which are north and south of the Sterling Highway respectively. Both are overseen by the host in site 1 which is in the south campground. The south campground has sites 1-22 which are reservable. Sites 23-29 are walkup sites and are in the north campground. All sites are gravel and generally level.
In the north campground sites 23,24, and 29 border the Kenai River at the back of the site. Sites 26,27, and 28 are tent sites. We found site 24 to be prefect for us with a long narrow driveway of probably 60 feet opening into a decently sized picnic table and fire ring area. A short trail took you to the river. We did attempt to use the hand pump for water but found the water to be quite dirty. There is a dumpster across from the hand pump. Some of the sites will be affected by road noise from the highway, but at 24, the noise of the river mostly drowned it out. Additionally, it is quite a distance between sites 23,24,and 25 and we found that it almost felt like we were camping alone even over the holiday.
Jeff S would stay here again
