Site 5 was semi-shaded, but was too sloped for us to get level with our 19’ van, and right in front of the toilet (and downwind) — we’d go back to Cooper Creek/Mulky, but probably will stay in a different site. Site 1 is large and flat, but is directly on the road. Site 2 is shaded and level, not far from the road. Site 3 is a large, flat concrete pad, with no shade; site is also against the road. Site 4 would be difficult to level. Site 6 is walk-in and shaded, and driveway not at all level; it’s probably the furthest site from the road. Site 7 is large, shaded, and seems flat, but backs up to the road. The toilet was well maintained, despite nearly constant in & out traffic. In July 2022, the only working water spigots were near site 8 or 9, and across from 12 or 13. No Verizon service for more than 5 miles around, even with a booster (for which we were grateful).
DMcK would stay here again

This is a lovely campground in the woods. The road to get there is very curly and gravel so a large trailer should probably steer clear. This place is tucked into the mountains of Georgia we would highly recommend if it wasn’t SO DANG NOISY. Seriously was awakened at least 3 time a night (Every night) with people being loud playing music, walking the road Talking loud or just driving by super fast. The sites are fairly spaced out, except the 4 water front sites they are pretty close together. We stayed at site 3 and it was a great site except it was right by main road. There was a small stream that ran through it and my kids LOVED it. Lots of creatures to find and explore. The hike Trail by the campsites was nice. We had a good stay minus all the noise but honestly won’t be back because of the Noise.

There are a couple of trails nearby and trout fishing is supposed to be good. We have a 20' trailer and there are maybe 3 sites that I would consider suitable (size and level). The roads are a bit skinny going in. I you meet someone, somebody will need to back up. Mulky CG is on the way in and has a few good sites, but they are right on the gravel road.

“Someone In Our Site”
noted 3/21/2023
I booked a site here via the Recreation.gov website just as they require. We got to the campground and someone had set up several tents, canopies, etc in the site we had booked/paid for. There is zero cell service and the “pay station” tells you to reservations are required via the app or call a number to book, which is ludicrous considering you have to drive 30 minutes down a windy forest service rd to get a cell signal. No sign of a camp host either. Not in the mood to argue with someone in the wilderness, we drove on. I appreciate technology, but it’s aggravating to pay for a site then not get to use it. Remote campgrounds need to be left first come, first serve with pay envelopes like the old days.
