Cool Breeze Campground

Well maintained sites. 7 miles from downtown Galax and close to the Blue Ridge parkway. Nice pull through and back in spots out front that are terraced up a hillside and additional sites at the top behind the office. No trees or shade except from neighbors above. Evening shade on door side. Some street noise but not in the evening.

Cell phone and Starlink coverage. No local TV reception.

Laid back arrival, pick your site when you arrive and pay by check or online. Did not use bathrooms so can’t comment.

This was a very well maintained park with spacious level parking spots. The bathrooms are first class, and it has good Wifi. Management is nice. There is no shade, and we had a table at our site, but it wasn't a picnic table with seating and was actually too tall to be used with our camp chairs. It is perfectly located between the town of Galax and the Blue Ridge Music Center. It served our purpose because we were away from our site most of the time so the sterile feeling of the campground didn't bother us. We'd go back for the music in the area-sometimes pre-Covid they had music on the premises-but as nice as it is, you wouldn't want to hang out there.

We stayed here in late October at the peak of Fall colors. Cool Breeze is just 7 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway on a fairly quiet country road. It is a basic RV park with full hook-ups, wifi. It did not have Cable or picnic tables. I noticed some sites had a wooden table but no chairs. The bathroom was locked with a key code which I could not find. I didn't need it, so didn't call. There was no one in the office the day we were there, so we put our money in the drop-box. It felt safe and was quiet. There were about 8 other campers there. A good stop if you are traveling the Parkway and would like full hookups for a night.
