I wasn’t sure about this place but was so happy we gave it a shot. It is right off the road and only has a handful of sites. Lucky for us we got there early so we had our pick of all of them. They did fill up later in the evening. We could see the traffic from the main road Both in front of us and wrapping its way around behind but it was far enough away to not be able to hear it. There was also a waterfall just visible off in the distance. There was some generator noise from the building near the grounds but barely audible from
The back of our site and not at all once we were tucked inside for bed. It shut off after dark as well. All in all a very cozy and comfortable free site.

We were delighted with Convict Flat! We were in a Toyota Tundra pulling a small 18’ travel trailer. There are 5 sites. Two of them seem to be meant for a group perhaps and are adjacent to one another, the others all enjoy quite a bit of privacy for a campground. There is no cell service at all. There are fire rings and picnic tables at each site, but note that some of the sites have a bit of tall grass around/under the table if that bothers you. The road loops, so it’s easy to turn around, even pulling a trailer. The vault toilet was really clean. The drive to the campground is gorgeous and scenic (read: windy and narrow as well), so give yourself some time!
