Another beautiful Yukon Provincial Park! It has great access off the Alaska Highway, plenty of good-sized spots with fire pits, free firewood, and picnic tables. We lucked out and got a back-in spot by the lake. The pit-privies were clean, puppy poop bags were available around the park, and they have a recycle bin. There is also a picnic pavilion complete with wood stove, a terrific playground with a little zip line, and a short walking trail. We are here for a few nights on our way south, but would love to stay for longer in the future.

One of my most favorite places on the Alcan. The beach is so peaceful and pristine.
Sites can be challenging to get into due to low and abundant trees, and like a lot of the provincial parks the easy access sites fill up early in the day.
Well worth the stop.
Starlink challenging due to trees.

Get a lakefront site. They are spectacular. Get there a bit early as it does fill in the evening. Bring an axe as they provide firewood just needs to be split.

Easy access. Beautiful campground. We had a lot of spades to pick from. We were able to fit 2 cars and 2 teardrop trailers in 1 site. Very clean. Lots of firewood available.

We had a back area and found it to be secluded among trees, lots of pull through sites on this area of the CG. Sites are gravel and level. It is only a minute or two-minute walk to the lake. Most other campers stayed only one night. Not much to do here except sit by the lake in a chair and enjoy the views. CG was clean and NON-potable water was available at two pumps. Free firewood in bins. Self-registration at kiosk. There are some bad frost heaves on the asphalt road which has taken its toll on RVs as indicated by several tire and welding signs. No cell service here.

The campground fills up by supper time so plan to arrive early in the day if you want a lakeside site. There were no lake sites available by early afternoon but the treed area didn’t fill until after dinner time. For our stay in August, we arrived before lunch and had our choice of spots - we could see the mountains out the front window and had lake views from the side and back. There was nice greenery between sites and we had good solar (when it wasn’t raining/snowing). Like all Yukon campgrounds, this one is well maintained with plenty of free firewood (we bought an axe when we first arrived) and sites of all dimensions. The campground is very convenient for exploring the northern portion of Kluane National Park - only about 20 minutes to the park visitor center and trailheads (Sheep Creek Trail was gorgeous and we did see some sheep). There was no cell service in the area unless you were at Burwash or Destruction Bay.

Stayed here because the spacing was right for our travels, but wow! Some sites were open and solar friendly while other sites were nicely shaded. All the sites with lake views were taken when we arrived at 2 p.m. in late July, but we had lots of choices in the shaded section including several long pull-throughs, level enough that we didn't need to unhitch.
All the roads are gravel as are the individual pads. Outhouses are available, pitcher pumps for water (boil a minute), and free firewood if you brought a splitting maul. This was a large, easy to navigate campground, that is apparently commonly visited by bears although we didn't see any when we were there.
If you're tent camping, there is a special electrically fenced enclousure with a number of tent pads available.
We had no connectivity on Verizon or Google Fi which roams onto a couple carriers in Canada.

We have stayed twice at the Congdon Creek Campground that is along the Alaska Highway. This is a great stop for a stay along Kluane Lake on the Yukon, and inside of Destruction Bay. We use it as a stop on our trips from Alaska in the Fall, unfortunately the gates are closed on our return trips in the spring. Not to worry however as there are plenty of free spots to stay along the lake, especially on its South Eastern side. We don't mind paying the $12CAD for our stays at Congdon or the other YGCG's as the sites are always clean, level, and come with all the firewood you can burn. $12 Canadian converts to $9.31 at the time of my review. During your stay at Congdon be sure to walk the shores of this very large lake, explore the old part of the campground beyond the tent enclosure road, and look for bears which I still have not found although I'm sure they are around. There is a children's playground, but be careful as the ground has some angle twisting holes made by animals. If you want solitude then camp in the section of campground in the wooded area, as the areas near the beach are the most popular. I recommend getting there early in the day before others are off the road, if you want the best spots near the water, or one of the larger spots for larger RV's. This campground has spots that will handle any size RV, although its not unexpected for the smallest of RVs to take the largest of spots. Near by Destruction Bay does have cell service, and with a booster it may be possible to get connected, but I highly doubt it, possibly that may change in the future.
