Nice free Campground. But there is a post on its board about a proposal to start charging $10. It does not say when. Other sites also mentioned in the post. A pay post was already built. It was peaceful with a creek running through it. I was the only camper. The vault toilet was not serviced due to covid and to bring your own toilet paper as per the posted message. I believe locals stopped by to ride motorcycle through the trail and 2 tried fishing the creek. It got to upper 40s F at night.
I left the next night when it started raining with thunder. I saw the warning about flash floods on its board.

The road in is rocky and rough and steep and narrow in places. There are 7 spots in Comstock campground, We were there the middle of July, and durinf the week had the place to ourselves during the week. On weekends, the locals came out and filled the place up. The only amenity was a pit toilet. It was kept clean, but was stinky. It always had plenty of paper. The forest service kept the place cleaned up nicely. The campsites were raked and litter picked up weekly. During the week is was very quiet, weekends were not so quiet, but not out of line. Rock creek flows through the grounds. Some people tried fishing, but we didn't see any fish get caught. Several trails for hiking, biking and/or ATV use are nearby. We stayed there in a 37' 5th wheel, but it would only fit in site #1.
