This was one of the nicest campgrounds for the price local to Colorado Springs. Only 30 min from Garden of the Gods and pikes peak. However It was extremely tight and not ideal for big rigs. We have a 43 ft and scraped really bad coming out and tore up a piece under our camper.

No matter how you set your hose to empty tanks is running up hill. Nice area but management is not very smart on placing sites our campers. The roads in the camp ground are also very narrow and hard to navigate with a bigger rig. Would not stay here again.

We were in a gravel & dirt area, maybe used for short stays? Sites were very close together. A picnic table between sites barely fit. I wouldn’t choose this rv park for a long stay. On the bright side, if you have kids, they have mini golf, a pool and a pond where you can fish, etc. we didn’t check out everything but did see a fair amount of kids.

These sites are basically on top of each other. I understand that it is winter, but everything is closed including the restrooms. Like, we can’t go potty somewhere else. We have to go in the RV. That seems like the most basic thing a “resort” should have. We could not get ahold of anyone during our check in. We went as far as to go knock on the door of the RV marked “employee parking”. We could not fit into our originally assigned spot so we had to pick another one. We were unable to tell any staff that we did that. The map was marked with a not very effective way to pull into the RV spot which made the entire experience frustrating. The ONLY good thing about this trailer park is there’s internet and cell service.

Setting is very nice. Road traffic and current nighttime freeway construction noise can be disruptive. It depends upon the site you get. We emailed for reservation and heard nothing. We showed up without reservation and got a site for 10 nights. However, site so narrow could not open awning and where we were directed to park required 4 wheel drive to back out. No real outside space since our site was encroached upon by monster RV next site over.

Colorado Heights Camping Resort is included in our Coast-to-Coast membership; so we get to stay there for free. It's a fairly large place with sites close together, situated among the pines on a hillside. This was our second visit to the park: once in a 28 ft travel trailer and once in our 38 ft class-A motor home. Most of the sites are 30 Amp service; but they've recently opened up an area on top of the hill that offers 50 amp service.
If you're going to Colorado Heights in a big rig, make sure you ask for one of the 50 amp sites up on top of the hill; and, if you reserve well advance you must call again a few days before arrival to remind them you want a 50 amp site!
Verizon and AT&T cell service was acceptable; but, our Sprint MiFi hotspot was amazing, with download speeds of over 100 Mbps!

They are narrow for big Class A or large 5th wheels. Sites are dirt with gravel. Most sites are 30amps with water and sewage. No cable connections. Satellite spotty if in the trees. Water pressure is adequate. Campground has on site pool and small playground. There is residential hot tub but no dog park/walk and no dog waste stations.
Colorado Heights is associated with Coast to Coast and listed as a premier campground. They do not seem to be accepting any more memberships but non-members have different rates.. There is a premium to be paid for 50amp sites for members and non-members..

“Must be a customer favorite!”
noted 8/7/2023
We have been members for over 15 years. OUR visit was a complete nightmare! We made reservations a good month prior to arrival for 12 days. We requested 4 different option sights and was told they were all taken. We were given a sight that was too SMALL for our RV. (a 26 ft space for a 33 ft. RV) When we told the office that the space wouldn't work, they REFUSED to listen. It became an argument! We were then told (verbally) to go to a specific spot in error (according to the office) We setup our sight and the following day was told we had to move. We ended up cutting our trip short for that reason. We were also then told that they don't guarantee RESERVING any spots but yet we had to leave because they reserved the spot we were in for someone else!! We also noticed that 2 of the sights we originally requested were empty for at least 7 days. They need to restructure their office staff. Just goes to show you that the staff deals with "it's not what you know, but, who you know" that is to get a good spot or a reservation.
