Main gates closing access to the entire area. All signs looks really new and says “year round closure.” Stinks bc it was really close to bend.

Then there was the sign, Restrictions End! (Pictures posted) Designated camp spots where about every quarter mile or so. We have an F350 with a 35 foot fifth wheel. It was tite but We went slow and had no problems. We took third spot back. More room then rv stop. Definitely dusty. No riffraff in here, I guess they have worked hard to keep it out. This is in a high value area, you turn in right across the street from Golf Course. Beautiful bike routes all the way to downtown, about five miles.

We went there based on recent reviews that it was really opened though the signs at the front of the site said otherwise. We went well over a mile back and there were No Camping Signs everywhere. We were stumped and stayed there in a very poor location - with lots and lots of DUST.
Don't waste your time on this one.

Reviewer below is correct camping is still allowed, but not near the street see map for specific areas. They have controlled burns going on for a week or so here so we couldn’t stay.

“Not closed”
Reviewed 5/3/2021
This area is not closed. They have restricted the camping area so you must drive further back in past the signs or look at the map that is posted at the beginning of the road. The ranger station down the road would also provide this same info.
As you have to drive further back now, I wouldn’t try anything too big.

We attempted to stay here and the area was closed by the Forest Service.
Looks to be a temporary closure but no date for reopening.

I only left because it started to snow.

When I took the first right turn after crossing the trail off the main road, I had to keep driving and driving and driving until I found a vacant spot tonight. Admittedly I did get here a little bit late. It was just before dark. There are lots of campers here! It makes sense though because it’s so close to Bend. It sucks because the road is very dusty and there’s people driving too fast kicking up the dirt so you have to keep your doors and windows closed or just be ready to close them when someone drives by.
I’d probably still come back here but I would definitely try to find a spot way earlier. The roads won’t be dusty in the wetter months. When it’s dry the dusty road really sucks.
I see people leaving tents, chairs, hammocks and other things behind to hold a spot while they are away. Is this common?

I think if you take the road to the left, that’s the bad road where there’s tons of sand and such. Some people are living here, but it doesn’t feel trashy or sketchy at all. No trash, plenty of space, easy access. We like it here! Only downside to this area is just the amount of dust is insane!
