Question about Coconino Rim Road Dispersed Camping

Last October we tried to go to this spot... but we couldn't find it. We even printed the directions in the reviews (below). Is it INSIDE the park? The person at the drive-thru gate where they take your $$ didn't know anything. We still would like to try this spot. Any suggestions or information will be appreciated.

Also, once pay to get into the park, then I can camp free at this dispersed site?
TIA

Yes, it is inside the park off of 64 / Desert View Drive. You turn on Coconino Rim Road which is also known as Fire Road 310. Here are the Google coordinates 35.9622389,-111.9647361. It’s been a few years since we were there. Safe

Yes! The access road is directly off the South Rim Road. Look for directions to the fire lookout tower which is inside the National Forest area.

If you have GPS try navigating to this point - https://goo.gl/maps/gbpbbbcvncQtmc8z5. You can try zooming in on satellite view to get a better idea of what the area looks like. And yes, you'll need a National Park Pass or will have to pay an entry fee but the national forest dispersed camping should be free, though that's changing in many places due to overuse.
