Very few options for “free” trash disposal in this area. Best plan is to pack out what you pack in, so pack lightly and conservatively. Under no circumstances should you just leave your trash beside the road; no one will pick it up and it may cause the Forest Service to close the dispersed camping areas.

First Rule of boondock or dispersed camping (If not, it should be) Leave the area in better shape then you found it. That means if you haul it in, you haul it out! Trash, dog poop (yours too), etc. No one likes to pick up after the last guy, not you and not the next camper. And yes, like any other place, the fine for dumping trash can be heavy.

Trash cans and dumpsters are abundant inside Grand Canyon National Park. Head up to Desert view Drive and pull off any viewpoint.

I did not encounter any trash/dumpster bins in this dispersed area. There are public-access (no cost) trash dumpsters at Mather Campground adjacent to the RV dump station (also two potable water spigots there). Did not see any accessible at the Desert View Chevron, but did see two behind the closer Desert View Market
