It is by far the best place I have Boondocked. It’s shields you from the road noise and wind as it is behind big rocks. No one around for miles for three out of the four days I was there.
It’s in a canyon, and apparently it goes quite away up, however, this is not for 2wd. The one other camper got stuck and they had a van. You need 4wd.
There are three turn outs right up against the cliff rocks.
You probably could go further up the canyon but because of the soft sand, I stayed close to the entrance. If you don’t want a ton of people or noise from the constant ATVs. this little hidden gem is the place to be. Plenty of hiking trails. Excellent Verizon coverage, not so much ATT
Mousr would stay here again

“Beautiful canyon dispersed camping”

There are lots of dispersed camping sites in Anza-Borrego but most are in the wide open windy desert. This spot is the complete opposite. The canyon is about 100 yards wide, maybe a mile long and it has about 4 distinct spots to park a small to medium size rig. This is the perfect base came for exploring this little slice of heaven.
Be aware that the canyon is also a wash so in the rainy season you will need to leave if an inch of rain was to fall but that is rare in Anza-Borrego DESERT State Park.
This is one of the best places we’ve stayed on our 3 month trip across the desert
