Great location and wonderful wooded sites. We have a 40’ Bluebird Wanderlodge and we fit very nicely in West Rim site 22 with lots of room to spare for our Chevy Avalanche toad. Dogs also had plenty of room to explore. Very private and level site. Short walk to the comfort station and laundry if you like to utilize those type of ameni... more

“Beautiful, Scenic Park in NW GA”

Reviewed May 23, 2019

Overall Rating

We camped here in March of 2019 and it is one of our favorite State Park campgrounds. Incredible views from the rim. If you are bold enough, hike down to the creek and back up the other side for the best experience of this diverse terrain. It is not a terribly long hike but it is on the strenuous side due to the elevation changes over ... more

“Beautiful but pricey..”

I love this park. The hiking is amazing. The pricetag, not so much. There’s a couple different camping loops and we’ve stayed at both now..I would say that the East Rim is better than the West. East is closer to the good hiking trails, which is whatever if you don’t mind some extra hiking to get to them from the West Rim. But more... more

“Beautiful State Park... Just Expensive”

Reviewed Feb 17, 2019

I really like this State Park. The RV sites are divided by East and West. The West campsites are better in my opinion. They are more spread out and not as crammed together. Most sites are level and there aren't a lot of bad sites. My only complaint is that they charge for parking and it is more than I prefer to spend for an overni... more

Loved the hike down to the waterfalls. Yes, there are about 600 steps, and no, dogs don't like to step on them as they are metal mesh and hurt a small dogs' feet. A little 20lb pup feels more like 90 by the time you carry him all the way back up to the top! The waterfall wasn't that spectacular as there hadn't been much rain(until th... more

“Beautiful and well-maintained park”

Reviewed Jul 09, 2018

this is an excellent park. The views from the overlook are beautiful and the West Rim Campground is very well-maintained and lots of private (in most sites). They also had gray-water drains scattered around the campground so I didn't have to tow my blue-boy to the dump station. The hike to 2 large waterfalls starts from the west rim ca... more

In Rising Fawn, GA there is a beautiful state park with an incredible canyon that everyone should see in the fall. It's the kind of place that begs you to wear comfortable jeans and a jacket as you enjoy a roaring campfire, complete with marshmallows and hot chocolate. The drive up was uneventful except for when a young man driving ... more

The sites are non-site specific but lots of good ones to choose from. We camped in the west rim campground we like it more than the east campground. The site was very level, private & big.
