Yes, there is more than one overlook camping spot. I think the prime spots are under the trees but we had a great time under the sun. Unsure about the directions; when we drove in 2020, we took a really rough road, I think 1550 on Google Maps. I think I read somewhere that no trespassing signs have been posted along routes east bound but cannot recall exactly. Hope this helps!
