“Quiet location near Stewart/Hyder”

We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to visit Stewart/Hyder. We’re self-contained in our 8 metre (25 foot) MH and don’t use the facilities. We stayed on a weeknight in mid-September. There were 3 other RVs overnighting with us. There are no formal sites here. There’s one spot in the trees at the far end of the parking lot and another at the near end of the parking lot near a log, both on the lake side. Otherwise, park in the open lot – big enough for 4-5 RVs. Not much room to turn around if the lot is full. As noted by another review, there appears to be a road at the end of the lot. There are no other sites, the road quickly turns into a walking path. There’s no trash – pack it out. There’s no water. There's a pit toilet. There’s a week ATT/Telus signal we were able to use with a booster. There’s no Verizon. The lake is pretty. The floating dock and floating picnic table look like fun. There are picnic tables to share on the beach. Decent road in on a very rainy day/night.

“Quiet paradise 13 km from Stewart, BC and Hyder, AK”

This is a gem of a spot. If you happen to have the place to yourself (or not have to share it with too many people), you'll be in heaven. This deep turquoise lake has cold water (no leeches!) and is a great place to swim or paddle. There are only 5 sites (officially only 1 RV site, 2-3 tent sites along the lake and a large parking area that can accommodate 3 RVs). The road keeps going after the lake, but it is pretty rough.
If you are a big rig, I highly recommend you unhook your tow vehicle to check the situation before driving in, because it could be very tricky to turn around if the large area is full. If you decide to walk from the entrance to the camping area, be aware that there are lots of bears in the area.
To get there: Drive North from Stewart along Highway 37A for approximately 13 km. (8 miles). After crossing the Bitter Creek bridge take the first right. Turn left at the first junction and follow the road, keeping to the right for another km. (.6 miles).
If you are coming from Meziadin Jct, look for the little brown wooden sign (Clements Lake Recreation Site).
There are a few picnic tables along the lake and one outhouse. Be advise that the hike that leaves from the campground (Ore Mountain) is said to be 3 km to a beautiful altitude lake, but it is much longer, very steep and not very rewarding in terms of views (and be very bear aware). There is no cell signal.
