“Quiet, cool & lovely... Don't let the road in scare you”

Okay, so it is 23 km down a dirt road to get to this campground. But it is a really nice dirt road: hard packed dirt that I think they put oil on--it's not even dusty. I'd say 75% of the time you feel like you're driving on asphalt, the other 25% of the time you can expect some washboarding and some gravel.

The park itself is a delightful treat especially if you're coming from some of the national parks. It is peaceful and quiet with lots of trees for privacy and cooling shade on the hot summer days. No cell service, but there is Wi-Fi available at the cafe. Don't miss out on the Cranberry Bundt cake! And I also highly recommend the day-long boat cruise that takes you up two of the lakes via a river connection. It's a blast! (Arrange at the cafe.)

Paddling and canoeing are available from the boat launch which is about 3 km away. You can swim right from the campground although it is close to one of the rapids. The two lakes have a multitude of canoe to camp spots which are well maintained and have vault toilets. There is very little boat traffic on the lakes and jet-skis are not allowed.

The vault toilets are well kept, the showers are okay but very expensive, $2 for 3 minutes... The Wi-Fi at the cafe is cheaper at $4 for an hour. :-)

Sani station on the way out happened to be broken when I was there but, when working, you will need $5 in coins.

“Long Drive & Mosquitoes”

The drive into this campground is long and windy on a narrow gravel road. The campground itself is nice with large sites and privacy. If you rely on solar the Falls Creek portion of the campground is your better option (the sites backing onto the river only since the other side is shaded). There are a lot of mosquitoes here - A LOT! Take repellent and a screen shelter if you have it. Nice walking trails and a beautiful lake for canoeing and kayaking. No services and pit toilets only. The toilets are starting to look old and need work (lack of funding apparently). Showers were closed due to COVID when we were there but they looked very small so don’t expect much. There is a cafe by the picnic area that has WIFI (for a fee). Other than that there is no cell service or access to the outside world. There is a Sami-dump ($5) with water fill (although it had a boil water advisory when we were there). Description of campground on Campendium lists only 40 sites but there are actually 80 sites.
