Access is very easy. Right off hwy 138. The gravel road is very well maintained, as it is used daily by PacifiCorp people to check on their waterflow.
Location is great! You are right by all of the awesome waterfalls in Umpqua, the hot springs, which, honestly, left a LOT to be desired, and you are not far from Crater Lake NP. Also, if you are at the forebay look away from the valley, and look on the highest point and you will see a fire tower. Go there! You can drive up with a 2 wd with no issues, but you can also hike up, which is what we did, as the roads about a mile down from the top was covered in two feet of snow still. Look for Pig Iron Mountain Trail #1438. It is tough. Three miles of up, followed by three miles back down. It isn't always easy to see the trail in spots either, but just pay attention. It is SO worth the view!!!!
Cleanliness was awesome. There was a can or two around, but otherwise all of the sites were very clean. The vault toilet was clean, and had TP when I was there, but bring your own.
Site quality was great! Other than the 2 sites right as you come into the forebay area, none of the other sites are visible to each other. I was in the 4th campsite down, and when I ran my generator, it was not heard at any other site. There are 6 sites. There are 5 right on the water, and a 6th one just over the little bridge on the left. VERY small, but it does have a fire ring and table just like all of the other ones.
Noise. What noise? Seriously. There wasn't any.
I was here the last two weeks of April, so there were no bugs. It did get down to the low 30s a couple of nights, so make sure you can heat yourself somehow. I had the place to myself for over half the nights I was there. If you like boondocking, this site has to be on the list of places to go!

ACCESS
The site is a short distance off of Highway 138, a couple of miles down a well-maintained gravel road. The road is a bit steep at times, but we had no issues getting up or down with our Class A.
LOCATION
The reason we choose to give this spot a go (in early July 2017 before it had reviews) was for its central location to many sights within Umpqua, as well as Crater Lake. From here, we traveled to all of the waterfalls in Umpqua, Umpqua Hot Springs, Diamond Lake several times, and Crater Lake NP. I should mention that this spot is a mere five minutes from Toketee Falls, and 10-15 minutes from Umpqua Hot Springs. It is pretty remote, and there are not many amenities close-by. It would be wise to pack enough supplies and gas when visiting, especially since the gas in Umpqua is pricy. haha
CLEANLINESS
The area was more than adequately clean when we visited. All but one of the six individual campsites were perfectly clean. It seemed some inconsiderate campers had left a bag of trash at one, which was then spread around by wildlife.
SITE QUALITY
The location is actually a primitive campground owned and maintained by Pacificore Power. They have provided each site with a picnic table and fire ring, and there is a vault toilet in the area. The sites are very spacious, all being able to fit at least one large rig, and most are generously spaced from one another. Several other campers came and went during our stay and we never felt cramped at all.
I should mention that the mosquitos were INTENSE in early July, during our visit. Bug spray was enough to keep them at bay and enjoy our lovely outdoor space, but we ran out very quickly and ended up having to pay heavily to resupply at the local general store. haha
NOISE
Absolute silence. As I mentioned, this area is fairly remote so it is incredibly peaceful. An amazing spot if you are looking to unwind.
CELL RECEPTION
We enjoyed BLAZING five bars of Verizon 3G (unboosted) during our stay, up until one of our last days where it suddenly just totally cut out. We tried boosting but still nothing. We thought there may have been something wrong with our hotspot, but it worked fine once we moved on. We surmised that campers may have shown up at the campground in the valley near Toketee which took some of the signal we were enjoying, or a tower in the area may have gone down.
Quite honestly, this is one of our top five all-time favorite boondocking stays. Simply an amazing primitive campground, in a great location, which also has terrific cell reception. We'll definitely stay here again if we're ever in the Umpqua area again.

Based off the first review, we decided to check it out. After a little steep climb, we made it. Wow, so peaceful among the pines and a small pond. There are also pit toilets (no T.P. though)
We saw 3 spots and yes, fire pits and picnic tables.
Active power lines nearby.
Cell service was awesome with our Verizon Jetpack.

This is a fine spot up a little bit from the highway. I was using it as a one night campspot while traveling and it serves good enough. The drive from the highway wasn't bad when I went, a couple small-medium potholes and gravel toads, nothing to bad
