Clear Lake County Park

Stopped here on our month long road trip and felt so strongly about how mediocre our stay was here that I sought out a place to make a review.
The first trouble we had was the the route google maps took us too wanted to cut through a cornfield and the second way it rerouted us was on private property and was gated off.
When we got into the park we noticed that in the middle of the week it was mostly empty, this is of course expected but the only other campers that were occupying sites happened to be occupying the site closest to the water pump and had set up their camp with the pump in the center, alongside them having 3 small dogs on leads this made using the only amenity this place had to offer very awkward.
When we set up camp we picked one of the better ones that we saw but still was very exposed feeling and had a strong smell like a dog park which made sense when while putting up our tents we struggled to find a space clear of dog poo.
Overall would not recommend this park unless you were in a position to desperately need a stop to pee, fill up water and sleep for the night but this is not a campsite you will enjoy
