I enjoyed my stay at Clay County. I was not directly on the lake which I think provided a little more privacy. I noticed several seasonal and may be permanent sites. The Chatuge Dam trail is right next to the campground very easy access Reservations on Reserve America was great but there's not really anybody you can talk to. ... more

“Beautiful in the Fall”

Reviewed 11/3/2020

Nightly rate: $22
Days stayed: 5
Site Number: Gibson Cove 4
Overall Rating

Beautiful mountain views and great fall foliage in lat October. Gibson Cove was well spaced, lakefront has more of an unobstructed view but the interior has a large back yard. Bath house at Gibson Cove was rough. Clean, but old. Water went out midday for a few hours, unexpectedly. Wifi was strong and allowed for Zoom work calls with ease.
