Sites from a previous review, in the grass by the water, were not accessible. The next gravel lot also had room for multiple rigs. There are a fair amount of people going in and out with boats being towed but were barely noticeable.
This spot was only about 20 miles from Sandpoint. A great little town with restaurants, breweries, shops, and a great beach. We went to the beach twice.
Verizon provided plenty of bandwidth for me to work one day and for us to stream.

You're basically in a gravel parking lot (until a couple other sites open towards the end of May), but it's such a peaceful area. If you SUP or have a kayak, etc. it's an awesome area to launch your craft and get out on the water. I added a video to the page that shows the areas and some things to know, including the follow:
- 3 day stay limit
- Train runs by pretty consistently
- Lot's of geese and geese poop (if you have a naughty dog)

Big rig friendly, potential for water front “property” and extremely well maintained. They are doing reclamation so not as many spots as in the past. Vault toilet and close to MT border and some cool MT and ID hikes and convenience store/restaurant in Clark Fork.

It’s nice and quiet at night. I heard a train, but no train horn. There were. few other campers, but plenty of space.
If for some reasons it’s full, there were plenty of roadside turn offs between this location and Sandpoint which could be used for an overnight.

We pulled up here just for a quick overnighter. We were the only ones camped here in the middle of August! Easy driving, easy to park. The primitive boat launch is an active one so if you are going to camp here, o might avoid pulling up on the road. Can’t beat the sunsets here.

Beautiful views of the lake from here. We were 1 of 3 vans parked in the area so was a quiet spot. Only docked 1 star because it is close to the train tracks. We're deep sleepers so it didn't bother us but you could hear it so sound sensitive people might not sleep as well.

When we showed up mid-day Saturday in the middle of summer, we were worried there would be no spots left. The best spots close to the water were taken, but there was still plenty of room for us. We had no problems!
5 or 10 minutes from the town of Clark Fork. We liked stopping in at the Cabinet Mt. bar and grill for Saturday night karaoke and inexpensive drinks.
Note there is a 3 day maximum.
There is a nearby train, but it wasn’t too loud. It didn’t bother us.
Great Verizon internet - no issues streaming. AT&T was spotty and slow.

We found this spot through research, great spot. There were others here while we stayed , we were lucky to get a spot. Looks like during high season it probably fills up quick. Easy access to the water and great views. Cell service is great! There is a port oh john toilet if needed.

“Beautiful Views”
noted 4/5/2023
I arrived around 3pm and drove to the camping area. The gates were closed, but that may be just because the camping season hasn’t started (I went early April). There was still a gravel area that was large and didn’t have any no camping signs posted. We stayed there for the evening and wasn’t bothered by anyone saying we couldn’t stay. So if the gate is closed there is still a gravel lot to stay that could fit any range of vehicle from van to RV. No bathrooms. There is a trail to Lake Pend Oreille that was beautiful and let you go far out to the water. Good place for a quick rest.
