I have to be honest that Ohio was a stopping off point between leaving the New York finger lakes and arriving in Michigan to meet a friend. So I'm saying the expectation was not high, just trying to find something pleasant for the week.
Clare-Mar Lakes is easy to find, about an hour south-west of Cleveland. The drive in is smooth with no hight issues or tight roads. After passing through Wellington, the nearest town, its about a 7 miles drive. The right turn is signposted, but take it easy as its a right-angled turn on to a reasonably narrow road.
The road from the office splits left, right and straight ahead. Between each pathway are large pretty lakes. We were in #447 on the right-hand road. The roads are gravel, so take your time and save your coach from a good dusting!
There was sufficient space for us to have the choice of 3 slots. Ultimately we picked the one that we could level on, as one was a tad too sloped, the other a little short and exposed. We loved our site. Plenty of open space and trees around the area make it feel very spacious, and we can see one of the lakes when eating outside.
The site was 50A + water. There's a dump site near the exit of the campground, and there's a honey-wagon that will pay you a visit for $15. I'd pick 50A over sewer any day, but your choices may be different. There don't seem to be any FHU sites.
The district is beautiful farmland. Well kept houses and quaint farming district towns.
I'd happily stay at this campground again. It may be worth checking out Findley State Park also, which is close by.
** Update: We popped the fuse a couple of times and discovered that they are using dual phase 30A fuses. This appears to be because they don't have fuses on the power outlet, just on the distribution pole. The 30A outlet, therefore, isn't fused at the outlet, so they have to keep to 30A on the pole. Sure 30+30A is better than single phase, but 2 AC's on a phase means that running anything else with reasonable power will pop the fuse. We have 4 AC's, but typically us 3 of them, so the microwave would pop the fuse. Dinged them an extra star on Site Quality. **
